This game has a similar problem as d3- it's impossible to get good items without trading

I realised I am pretty much self found at level 78 except for 1 uniqe ring... I have never bought a rare item from someone... And by playing moderately little I have accumulated quite a lot of useful almost top tier items. I don't feel that i am required to trade for the best items (yet)... certainly not like in d3 where every 30 minutes I had to scout AH to advance.

Maybe the problem is that players are spoiled with instant gratification and want too much, too fast, and without much effort.

Path of Exile is an online Action RPG set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. We're a small independent team of hardcore gamers based in New Zealand and have created Path of Exile as the game that we'd want to play ourselves. It is designed around a strong barter-based online item economy, deep character customisation, competitive PvP and ladder races. The game is completely free and will never be "pay to win". Path of Exile is currently in Open Beta! If you'd like to play, just create an account.

it´s part of the game design. why did u download poe if u don´t like a core aspect of the game, OP?

don´t get me wrong, i like to find my items from mobs and not trading and i play mostly selffound itemwise. but i also know, that it will take me longer and if u need a specific item for a build, u maybe need to trade anyways.

i already found lioneye´s, and i try to find taryn´s and kaom´s. i have a few years planned for that. but who knows, could drop today. that´s the beauty of rng. ; )

Because they have contradicted your quote multiple times and can therefore contradict it again.

For instance the introduction of Kaom's strongly contradicts the "deep character customisation" from your quote.

How does introducing a unique item go against "deep character customization" isn't your characters items part of its customization?

I yet to find a ES chest with ES higher than 200, not even talking about 5L. Yet to find a wand which would be better than one I was using in Act 1 normal. And so on

Are you going to farm maps for a month in 4L 200ES chest with blue wand and shield resisting "instant gratification"?
it may impossible to get the absolute best items without trading or a unreal amount of farming, which is something that may need to be looked Good items are extremely easy t craft and really don't take much. Your exaggerating, stop it.

If that unique item is so overpowered that it practically nullifies the grand majority of previously viable items for that same equip slot, then it is removing viable customization and replacing it with a no-brain auto-equip one.

This is what happens, OP... when companies use a game model designed in times of limited communication.. in modern day.

Instead of addressing the issue, which is that of full-free-trade with modern day communication.. they gut the core of the game genre 'loot-find' in an attempt to balance progression.

It of course then means anything other than trading isn't viable.

D2 = balanced drops for finding loot and progressing with limited trading.
D2jsp = unbalanced path of least resistance.

D3 + PoE = D2jsp model with nerfed drops to attempt a balance, an impossible goal.

Whatever happened to loot find games?
Casually casual.

I have 10 chaos and 20 alchemy orbs total. How much you will craft with that?

Yet, in order to craft, one needs to trade for orbs. Orb drops will not sustain crafting without extreme edge case luck.

But, if you do trade, then why would you craft, when simply buying your item is much more realistic.

i m definitely agree with u.this game s gonna end sooner or later coz of no AH and no drops.turning to D3.this is the best game around now but it s pisses me of 'bout drops.we lookin' for a game but can t find any good nowadays.but we will.
