The REAL truth exposed!! (Brought to you by a player in top 10)
" No because if that player is spending money on the game like that, then it's clear he likes the game and wants to play it which is good for the overall population and support of GGG. They need to ensure they can keep him interested legitimately by providing him with the content he desires so that he doesn't have to resort to RMT. |

" Nah dude it is cheating , pure and simple , Hate to say it. The circumstances of the game may have lead some people into using the rmt. that is unfortunate and we can also hope some day it will be unnecessary. But it is still paying for an advantage no matter how you sugar coat it. Last edited by Saltychipmunk#1430 on May 12, 2013, 11:35:28 PM

" If somebody wants to call me out, the gloves come off. If they are somehow offended that I responded by pointing out they are wrong, then they shouldn't have called me out in the first place. "Abrasive asshat", ooo ouch bro I'm so hurt. I bet it makes you feel good insulting others on the internet doesn't it? As far as I'm concerned, as long as I don't personally insult others, something you so deftly failed to do just now if I might add, and continue to disprove others using logic I retain my dignity and will always feel superior to you low class trolls hurling them about. :) Good day *tips hat*. Okay, I was playing around earlier, but in all sincerity, this. . .
" . . . is fucking abhorant. You signed a TOS when you joined the game, you agreed to its terms. And then you decided to cheat. If you loved the game as you so elegantly put, you would not have betrayed the fucking contract you signed. No amount of grief should justify that. You betrayed GGG, plain and simple. " ... it's clear they are in violation of the ToU, and their account should be TERMINATED. That's pretty much the rules as they are now. You don't think that 1,000 accounts a week is only RMT sellers do you? --C Last edited by Courageous#0687 on May 12, 2013, 11:49:23 PM

" Your missing the entire point of that comment. I agree they should be banned, what I was trying to say is banning us should not be the war. It's the fight, the war should be making the game fun enough and accessible enough so that we don't have to resort to it. For once guys try to read into the meaning of phrases instead of taking thing literal. |

" I'm glad you posted :) Pay to Win people will always exist. They are people who have more money then time. Once the leveling system is reworked people will no longer be forced to RMT in order to progress in maps(Much like in D2 the jump from nightmare to hell made RMT a very appealing route) Another thing which I do see in Poe is ease of access builds. Starter builds so to speak. Builds that require less currency to play with. Keeping these fun will encourage the player to actually grind in order to make a more intensive character versus buying needed items to build them. I can tell you the reason I do not choose the PTW route(besides being pretty broke) I was gathering a good amount of currency making alts. I had a good amount of skills to choose from. Building those guys up gave me the currency needed to buy gear for the one I liked the most. I had my fireballer setup and died(in hardcore) due to having an extremely difficult time getting physical damage reduction.(I had 85% all resist but yet struggled to hit 40% physical) (armor needs improved) D3 will always be pay to win because the gear is focused that way. Uniques dominate in that game. Which makes it easy to buy them since they are common and powerful. I think you understand this since you stated "a Unique will never be as powerful as a rare, it will allow your character to be unique" Which is why kaoms breaks that mold. There is nothing unique about 1k HP, right? a good example of a unique trait is deaths harp "one additional arrow" It doesn't break the game but does make the chain gem twice as effective :)(Though not effective enough to drop LMP) Quality and rarity also caters to the RMT'ers Why? because your typical player isn't building a character in order to find amazing items, They are having a hard enough time building a standard character that can survive. Those who RMT have a way easier time creating a build with rarity quantity(They can just buy a good enough setup to do it) Which then makes their RMT purchase an investment... You know how I got rich in D3? I paid real money for a "Goldskin" The armor grants 100% gold find. I then piled as much gold find on my gear as I could while still killing fast. Then I grinded in a dense easy to kill area until I put an armor set together that could handle act 3. Once I hit act 3 I got rich by finding uniques. Where is the flaw in that? Well like high level maps the drops are so much better in act 3 then in act 1 there is a giant hump. Once I crossed that hump it was all profit for me. I found items worth hundreds of mills when gold was still at .90$ per mill. And like in Poe that hump(high level maps) is so huge that it could in fact make RMT profitable. Due to people needing base Ilvl 77 items or what have you. Fortunately for you the original poster is not here to exploit the situation but rather help you improve it. I'm willing to bet he could easily make his money back by selling high Ilvl whites alone. |

" I get your point. If you ban the actual people it does nothing to solve the root of the problem. All that happens is those people go away (or come back under different names) and are replaced by others doing the same thing. Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th

" Here's the thing though. In CB I knew some guys who did use RMT sites and they did it because they had more money than time. The problem with this situation is it's people with money and time who are doing it as well. That doesn't seem like it's just a rich guy trying to experience the game in a short time, that seems more like nolife players trying to sustain what they want to do. " What you quoted is just a bold statement that says pay to win will never go away but here is what encourages it. |
