The REAL truth exposed!! (Brought to you by a player in top 10)
No I get it. No different than running a 69 in CB than having to go back down 65. Also, the game isn't released. What to know how I know this? We haven't fought dominus yet.
If you think the one month race hurts the default HC economy, just wait til new ladders start. Pretty much the same thing, but much longer in duration. And they'll be back to back to back. And play your high lvl character all you want to. Just know that the exp rate slows down. What do any of you even plan on doing when you hit 100? Complaining about no lvl 125? Than complaining about how long it takes? |

" Yes, that's interesting. And while RMT appears to be an issue at the top of the ladder at least no one is being accused of botting their way there. A healthy sign to me. The cost and difficulty/complexity (RNG) of rolling a good map is keeping the top ladder clear of botting and the supply of high ilvl to a relative minimun. @UnderOmerta, thank you for the career advice. I appreciate it dude, I really do ^^. | |
" I don't see slow XP as a legit complaint either. But that isn't the problem with the map system anyways. It's broken because: -efficient leveling is restricted to the ultrarich -many people pay huge amounts of currency for the pleasure of getting assfucked by RNG -solo players are totally screwed. This alone disqualifies current maps as an acceptable leveling system. A solo player should be able to lvl at at least 75-80% of the speed of a group, otherwise the system is a failure. You know very well I have issues with the map system, however people seem to want to pretty much be guaranteed to ALWAYS be in the highest map tier, and/or never jump around. Jumping around is fine, its the simple fact that difficulty \=\ better odds at advancing that's the issue.
Frankly, I get sick and tired of the qq on the forums about I can't progress past 80-85. Bullshit. You can easily progress that high in current game content, let alone maps. I do however look forward to whatever changes they have in store to separate item and xp grinding. And aimless, to answer your question several pages back, I would not play with anyone who I even think is using jsp or RMT. I even told a current friend when he jumped in to run some maps with some players who I KNOW are using jsp to progress, and that I thought it was bullshit. They are flat out cheaters and should be banned. There is no excuse whatsoever. |

" Personally, if I reached 100 in reasonable time/effort, I would start working on my next character and build which I have several in mind. Unfortunately at this rate, once I reach 100, I definitely won't be rerolling and I definitely won't be leveling another 100. This experience has been way to painful with 1 character. The exhaustion and frustrations associated with mappin with huge currency sinks (even after buying hundreds of dollars worth of orbs an maps, with no return for time/money invested, did not make this enjoyable). I had over 2000 hours in D3 and probably woulda kept playing if I knew all this POE stuff before hand. I had a 60 of each class and 2 of them were paragon 100. I also had 2 hardcore characters I was working on. Did I wanna quit because it didn't take long for me to reach max level?? Answer is no. Dd I care it only took a couple months for me to grind paragon 100 at a modest rate? No. That experience itself was enough to keep me going until the ubers were launched and so on. The experience was reasonable enough that I was motivated to level again and again with new characters. POE doesn't offer that feeling. THAT'S how it's should be, right about the time you start to get bored the new content comes out. But right now, after I reach 100 I'm fairly confident to say I probably won't be playing anymore because I sure as heck don't want to do this all over again. The problem with POE is that the devs seem to believe that it's fine to expect "years" of building up your character to perfection, but at the same time provide "days" worth of actual game content. This discrepancy will never fly. If you want people to enjoy your game despite limited content, make it fun and rewarding to play, set a reasonable level limit, and when players reach it they will want to reroll new characters and do it again.
Given the current state of the game, I doubt anyone will ever want to have multiple 100s. |

" Everybody cheers for aimless, the stadium is going nuts :) BTW, SL4Y3R (this nickname is painful to type :P), are you sure there will be new ladders, yadayada etc.? I assume this will mean that chars from current leagues get relegated to a legacy dump? Or is it just a feeling you have? placeholder for creative sig

Wow, this is even sadder than I've ever imagined...
Even the sub-Reddit is losing subscribers steadily now. Last edited by coli#0236 on May 16, 2013, 12:15:36 AM

" I would change the name if I could :P (Might PM support about it actually). Ladders are coming. This was talked about in closed beta, and while discussing this topic (ironically), though before the OP was made, he assured me said ladders were indeed coming. Like I did say, don't know when, but yeah. There won't be a legacy dump. The current default SC and HC will still very much exist. You will just be able to select something along the lines of "S03SC" Ladder. (Season 3 SC ). After it ends, everything get's dumped into the current SC and HC (known as parent leagues). |

" And which category do you fall into again? EDIT: I have my guess, but I really hope I'm wrong. Last edited by SL4Y3R#7487 on May 16, 2013, 12:33:59 AM
