1 Portal Is Killing the Fun
" I'm happy you are enjoying the game. I am enjoying it aswell but not so much the 1 portal thing. I'm not saying it has to be exactly like poe1. Merely stating that it does not feel as good to me not being able to learn from my mistakes. |

" Same experience here. Had 5 irl friends try out poe2 and they had a blast until maps. They all quit after about an hour of mapping. |

" That's what you REFUSE to understand. The GAME is playable by everybody. Three acts of it (X2). Then, after the game, there is a relatively infinite time sink for the people having nothing better to do than tryhard, it's called... The ENDGAME. You want the content of the endgame without tryharding ? Doesn't make any pixel of sense. |

" Yes i refuse.... lmao. some people have different opinions than you. It's not about understanding it is that we just dont agree with eachother and that is fine. Sounds like you are suggesting casual players should stick to campaign. if that is what you are saying then that is probably the most garbage take you can possibly have on this. Endgame is a totally different game than campaign and even casuals want to play it without saying goodbye to their family and quitting their job. they dont need to finish it or clear every boss in the game. There is room for casual and no life to coexist. |

" The entitlment is surreal. Real casuals do stick to the campaign because it already take them 50-100h to clear. And that's great for a half finished 30$ game. And when it's done, they close the game, move on, are happy to have had a good experience, continue having a great life. Then, the entitled casuals think the endgame is also designed like the base game and that they should reach the end of it within the same time frame ; and that they deserve to have access to all additional but optional content because they already completed the campaign. Spoiler : they don't. When Real casuals step into the Endgame and see the amount of time and tryhard it will take for them to complete everything, they do what normal Real casuals do. They don't engage with it. They value their time. Entitled casuals don't stop. They try, even though they know it's too much for them, and decide to keep biting in it until they bleed and end up complaining that the game is too hard and too punitive and hurting them. Just stop doing that to yourself, man. Last edited by dwqrf#0717 on Dec 30, 2024, 10:15:31 AM

Bro just admitted that 99% of the game time should be dedicated to streamers and no lifers living in their parents basements. wow

" What you fail to consider is that when POE2 is released from EA and as v1.0, it will be a Free To Play game. And only those who feel good making it past the campaign and into the endgame will stick around and play that endgame. Right? And the endgame players is where GGG makes all their money. They sell QoL tools (stash tabs) and Hideout furniture and so on to the End-gamers. None of that is needed in the POE2 campaign. So if the POE2 endgame is going to be this brutal and unforgiving, then all those new players will play the campaign, get reamed by the endgame mechanics and then just leave. One MAJOR difference between Campaign and Endgame is: Campaign gives you infinite tries to do something with ZERO XP loss. If there was a limit on tries and / or XP loss then a great many players will drop the game and move onto something else and GGG would have lost a paying customer. So you can posture all you want with your elitist attitude, but know that if GGG listened to you and others like you, their game will be a financial failure. And besides that, another thing you and others like you keep harping on about is: POE2 is Different to POE1.... So then let's remove the XP penalty from POE1 and remove the endgame gating behind a farmable commodity (maps/waystones) altogether. The endgame should be infinitely playable so let's have infinite tries per map and waystones of all tiers available from vendor. Or do you mean something else when you want POE2 to be different to POE1? |

" Right. You still can't make the difference between THE GAME and THE ENDGAME ? It's written in big on the top of your map screen. |

Why would they slow the game down and dumb down crafting to help the casual player get into the game and then make endgame worse for casuals.

Have to agree, 1 portal is dumb.
If I wanted death to be that punishing, I’d play hardcore. It wouldn’t be so bad if there weren’t so many “You are dead” mechanics in the game. Seriously. I’m over the resistance caps and have Chaos immunity, but there’s still times where you just DIE. Out of nowhere. And you can’t even tell what it was that killed you. Or you run into a fast Mana Siphon rare as a caster, and you’re just dead. It’s terrible, to say the least. |
