That's what you REFUSE to understand. The GAME is playable by everybody. Three acts of it (X2).
Then, after the game, there is a relatively infinite time sink for the people having nothing better to do than tryhard, it's called... The ENDGAME.
You want the content of the endgame without tryharding ? Doesn't make any pixel of sense.
What you fail to consider is that when POE2 is released from EA and as v1.0, it will be a Free To Play game.
And only those who feel good making it past the campaign and into the endgame will stick around and play that endgame. Right?
And the endgame players is where GGG makes all their money.
They sell QoL tools (stash tabs) and Hideout furniture and so on to the End-gamers. None of that is needed in the POE2 campaign.
So if the POE2 endgame is going to be this brutal and unforgiving, then all those new players will play the campaign, get reamed by the endgame mechanics and then just leave.
One MAJOR difference between Campaign and Endgame is: Campaign gives you infinite tries to do something with ZERO XP loss.
If there was a limit on tries and / or XP loss then a great many players will drop the game and move onto something else and GGG would have lost a paying customer.
So you can posture all you want with your elitist attitude, but know that if GGG listened to you and others like you, their game will be a financial failure.
And besides that, another thing you and others like you keep harping on about is: POE2 is Different to POE1....
So then let's remove the XP penalty from POE1 and remove the endgame gating behind a farmable commodity (maps/waystones) altogether.
The endgame should be infinitely playable so let's have infinite tries per map and waystones of all tiers available from vendor.
Or do you mean something else when you want POE2 to be different to POE1?
Nah, another crap argument. GGG isn't greedy and 'd rather make a good game instead of following the money. That's why they made PoE2.
It's a better game.

I feel One portal was a bad call from devs, would love to hear them talk about it and why they toke that decision? Maybe they know something we dont, maybe there is a reason for it, and i hope its not " we want it to be different" or "punching"
I play from syria and i get a lot of lag spikes, and losing the whole progress cuze of a lag spike, its kinda annoying, and made me quit my progress
Again would love to hear the GGG take on this topic and why they toke that call

1 portal should be an affix on a super busted map, not every map.

i like the idea of minus portals being a modifier and not forced upon everybody

The probably wont do this because the extra portals support group play and loot extraction.

i think it would be fine. you dont have to run it if you dont want. and its a balance about less loot, but maybe better loot.

It's not a crap argument as you've not successfully countered the argument.
GGG is a business. They have investors who expect a return on investment.
There's no greed involved. Just business.
And POE2 in it's present state with it's unforgiving "play it once and done" mechanics, is not a product that will retain the kind of business that they need to sustain their operations.
Your lack of counter argument does not make this reality simply vanish.

This idea has merit.

+1
It's not about right or wrong. it's a design decision and at the end of the day it boils down to is it fun or not.
What it actually boils down to is that this is an online service with a f2p model, for which keeping people logged in as much as possible means more revenue, and making people regularly log off due to frustration means less revenue.

Agreed.
I am sick and tired of dying to random bs I can't see quick enough or react quick enough and lose a map. I just had the awful experience of dying to something I couldn't see in an expedition logbook and lost that, 6 portals for what? Oh... to haul loot. They're really good when I'm dead.
Of all the deaths I've encountered to far, 90% are random bs I can't react in time to and the rest is my own mistake, which I will own up to. I'd rather have 1 portal as an affix to high tier maps that you can get while crafting, but not this.
Oh, you get 1 shot for the Citadels? And they're so rare that you can maybe find 1 in 100 hours of gameplay? Though luck, maybe 'get gud'. (I hate this so much)
