+1 if you cant balance bosses and defenses you have no business doing 1 shot maps.

It's retarded how hard it is to maintain having enough maps, losing one for dying pretty much guarantees you'll run out and hope you can buy one in the market... which is also hard considering this game is already dying & it's hard to get a response to buy one. I'm new to PoE in general, so this is the first game with end game maps I've seen that has arbitrary limits, without any point other than to be anti-fun and make things artificially more "difficult", which isn't more difficult, it's just more costly and infuriating. |

I have lost a couple of good maps due to tp-spawn traps recently (Augury map). GGG: I would gladly pay gold to re-enter one of the remaining portals. |

I think it kind of sucks, because the way difficulty is handled lategame is through stat checks. There is no skill in being swarmed and killing everything. Dying to a rare with mods that brick your build isn't something you can avoid by being good at the game. Dying to delayed on-death effects or "periodic explosions" overlapping after a monster is dead, isn't skill-based.
It is completely build dependent. Are you melee? Yes. Okay die to on-death or periodic effects if you ever don't 1 tap a rare with bad mods or try to loot after killing one. No? Okay, ignore all mechanics and have fun. Do you have enough Energy Shield, and are you CI? Yes. Okay, be literally immortal, ignore chaos resistance, and stack a bunch of rarity in it's place making you 10x everyone else's returns. Anything else? Why aren't you ES/CI lol have fun dying randomly and looting regal orbs because you can't fit rarity in. There is no skill involved lategame outside of boss fights. There is no way to retry what killed you with one portal. There is no way to know what killed you, just your best informed guess. It just feels like bullshit. We literally can't see what is under all the corpses and loot. The screen clutter is still a MASSIVE problem. Dying to what you can't see, is not difficulty. It's garbage. It is bad enough we have to run 20-30 maps we don't want to run just to set up towers, let alone fearing doing them twice because some on-death or periodic mod from a single rare just straight up one tapped you, from an EHP that a boss slam would not. People that pass this off as not an issue, must not play in groups much or at all. Have fun letting a friend lay there and wait while you run a map, or you lay and wait while a friend runs. That or you decide to not run without the other. Either way, this 1 portal thing, if not changed, will be the reason I don't play any more. I hope the devs do something about it if not just revert it to the poe1 way.

But I'm confident GGG will patch it fairly while also making so to avoid abuses and force players to make better group, avoiding outgearing carries, like : -If one player dies, the maps is closed and everybody is kicked out. Seems the best and fairest course of action imo. |
