1 Portal Is Killing the Fun
" yk, thats the point of playing softcore not playing hardcore kind of a wack argument to make |

It's the lost men zealots that do the one tap meteor, I've gotten killed by it. There is no telegraph. I have over 75% PDR, 84% ev, 1500 ES and 2500 life. They also increased the XP penalty from POE1 to 15%. I think the people defending it are contriving the developer's reasons for it too, it keeps people playing longer on 3-4 month league cycles where they can run sales and people act like it is some logical player experience thing to help people "get good". Also, there is no real end-game right now. T-15s... and I've done alot, are mostly it.
Did some juiced up T-18s too, if you want to call them that, e.g. corruption+irradiated using a T16 corrupted map. Did I die there? Nope. Went fine. However, I just died in a T-14 to some random ground thing. No idea what. Got pushed into it by some charging mob. It wasn't a very juiced map at all, I was just trying to clear the node. So no... it's not challenging, because that implies that you can persevere with skill. It is just random imbalanced numbers colliding. IT's EA, so that's that, but defending it as solid design is pure BS of the finest order. People get in a car accident because they hit black ice, no one yells that they should learn to drive better. |

" And PoE2 endgame's softcore makes you lose 10% XP and your map. That's it. It's the rule. GGG could add much more punisment to death, ie : see Hardcore death penalty. |

" Nope. THE GAME isn't tuned to streamers and no-lifers. The end of the ENDGAME is. Those are two separate things. |

Everybody that likes the 1 portal system. I hope you drop a mirror and get 1 shot before you can loot it.

" There is no end of the endgame unless you play 15+ hours a day. You have to rng into a citadel and people that have day jobs wont even be able to interact with it even if they are skilled enough to make a build and do the boss. When you put the carrot too far ahead people just wont even try. for instance: Whenever I was a kid we used to walk 4-5 miles to the swimming pool to go swimming and didn't mind. If the swimming pool was the next town over (about 18 miles) we wouldn't be walking to the swimming pool. |

1 portal is whatever on maps, but citadels and pinnacles should have multiple tries available considering how time-consuming it is to even attempt them.

1 portal is the dealbreaker for me and many other people, not touching this game ever until it's changed. |

I really don't understand the people defending 1-portal maps. Path of Exile was a game designed for mindless grinding to upgrade gear or farm currency. It was enjoyable to turn off your brain after work and just run maps or league content of your choice.
PoE1 was great because it allowed me to control the level of stress I wanted in a map. For example, if I'm just running Crimson Temple 100 times to farm an Apothecary card, it's an easy and fun grind session. On the other hand, if I decide to giga-juice a T17, it's a fun, adrenaline-filled experience! But PoE2’s current mapping feels like all stress. I’m constantly worried about messing up (even once!), and losing the map, the content, and the experience. It’s just not fun to be stressed all the time. Edit: and don't even get me started on the stupidly expensive boss attempts having 1 portal... Last edited by Galelieas#3816 on Dec 30, 2024, 8:30:01 AM
