The Palpable and Uninformed Hate and Dismissal of POE1 Veterans Sounding the Alarm is Worrying
There are no sides only perception of them, we are all in this boat together and the thing we should be fighting for is that all of our experiences are made as accessible as we can within reason.

Yes, some maps and some layouts aren't fun... Augry, Vaal Factory...
The one Portal Mechanic seems harsh. Clearing Towers is plain dumb. Balance is totally whack. The campaign pacing also has issues, imho you get plenty of skills plain too late. . . . But realistically: We are now in Week 3-4 of early access... Most people that didn't no life entered Maps probably about a week ago. Plenty have played started a second or third char and haven't really dived into endgame. Why and how should GGG have gathered feedback and done any adjustments yet? Are you suggesting timetravel or something? Last edited by aDoreMe#3888 on Dec 23, 2024, 5:20:48 AM

" You have merit in what you say about people coming back and playing casually. Lots of people do it. But you also have to acknowledge, that many of the systems in the game for the top 5% of players, are actively detrimental to the quality of the game. Even for these casuals. Which is why they aren't playing more regularly. Which is why, the game fails to retain players. Lots of people quit after not even 100 hours. You can call my post crap, but you sat there and argued a point I wasn't even talking about. I never said people couldn't play the game casually. I never said PoE was failing. I simply said. It's a bad game for casuals. Once you're past the acts. The rest of the game is awful for them. Most of the systems in place, actively scare them away. We shouldn't be balancing the game around what 5% of the playerbase wants. PoE 1 veterans should have a say in some things, but they're expecting the game to be much the same as PoE 1 at this point. " The tendency for people to make anything, literally ANYTHING soaking wet from emotions with overbloated posting is just rediculous. Even if it's a game, PoE2 is a PRODUCT. And following this, we are CUSTOMERS. I really don't understand how 'selfish and gratification focused' and 'internet community' can apply here, it's no charity. We all paid for a product in development that should at least iron out some of the ultimate upsetting design mistakes to grant customers some sort of enjoyment in their collective free time within their circle of friends and families. |

" It's a game, and it takes time. Your time isn't any more valuable than the people that work at the companies. They're not there to give you a product on your time frame. The selfishness and gratification comes from this expectation. It's unreasonable. You didn't hire them to do a job for you. You aren't paying for the complete development of the game. You're merely paying for early access to it. You get it, warts and all. And it will take time to clean up. They have no obligation to polish it up so that you can play it in your free time right now. |

"Who would fight you? You're absolutely right. Some people might have differing feedback, but everyone seems to have the same inkling on feedback that they want this game to be around and supported for years to come. Right now the biggest issue is really just that the game launched close to the holidays and feedback from the developers has been limited, which was probably intentional as making big announcements on huge changes and then not following through until after the holidays is not a great look. This is where a lot of this infighting is really resulting from. I would assume when the holiday's are up we'll hear more on the devs actual plans when the numbers and feedback is all collected. |

" There's going to be one of the 4 names trolling the forum 24/7 disagreeing with the point in less than 30 minutes. I agree they should have cooked more, but a release date was promised twice to be "Late 2024" so they had to shove something out to not get the wrath of the internet. I trust it'll be another 2-3 years and the game as a whole is a great product, not just some parts which were finished for EA. Last edited by Arakki#6986 on Dec 23, 2024, 5:34:32 AM

" Absolutely, they were also on the back of a product that had been in the work for years, has undergone a lot of shifts from it's original vision, and one already very large and prominent delay. They did have to launch and I think that this game is going to have a good shelf life and is going to change quite a bit as the EA develops. People do need to let them cook a bit, as they can't really just come out and announce a bunch of changes immediately and then delay those because of holidays and the dev hours it would take. Everyone's eager for big changes but, you also gotta account for every big change is gonna have a larger effect on the game as a whole and needs to be constantly adjusted as the game is developed.
