Floored by the power spike of TRADING. This will ruin the game.

Why was excaliber special?

Did King Arther buy it on the auction house?

FFS. I don't know why the concept of grinding and chance drops, and grinding for power is so hard to communicate in a forum of die hard ARPG players.

The grind and finding the loot through long dry spells IS THE GAMEPLAY.

If you can just drop a quarter into a machine to get power, the whole system collapses.

You do know how Arthur got Excalibur right?

Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a trade system.

Has anyone told this guy about SSF?

I want POE 2 to be the next Diablo 2.

Maybe you've missed it but Diablo 2 also has trading that makes the game "easy mode". ;)

"
It makes the experience less fun, for the vast majority of players.

Speak for yourself pls....YOU are not the "vast majority".

If it maker the experiance less fun for YOU, simply play SSF mode or don't trade.
I think they should add a third mode for Group Self Found or Guild Self Found.
If Group Self Found then only allow trading with group members if the item dropped while they were in the party.
If Guild Self Found then only allow trading with guild members if they are in the guild for like 7 days or so and limit the members a guild can have to like 20.

This mode should be the default mode when creating a new character.
The game can then be balanced for this mode (drop-wise and crafting-wise).

The trade league should still be there and could be called Easy Mode, while SSF could be called Hard Mode.

And to make it more appealing to play this mode or SSF, they should make ladders and races only in GSF or SSF and not in trade league.

I think this would be a win-win. GGG won't have to do massive nerfs because much less players in GSF or SSF will have the items to reach the "top" powerlevels and if they do they earned it. And players in the trade league can still trade as they want and zoom-zoom like in PoE1 because the nerfs don't need to be so massive but with the downside of not having competition in form of ladders and races.

Agreed.

Even in Hardcore, the market is flooded with cheap but powerful items.

That's something I miss from Hardcore Ruthless, the market was harsh, due to having just a tiny fraction of the player base.

And playing SSF isn't an option, some of us still want to play with friends, and share what we find.

----

I can think of some solutions:
- Have drops with an item base that matches the area's level, so end game players don't find stuff useful in early game
- Cut down the amount of drops from end game players running early trivial content
- Make the currency drops change and progress over time, so that the currency found in early acts is mostly useless to end game players
I check these forums maybe once or twice a day, just to check the latest gripes. Gotta say, I see "crazyfingers" starting multiple threads and posting 30-40% of the posts in those threads. Do you actually play the game or just constantly pick up issues and run with them on the forums all day?

Trading is an option. You want to pass a hard wall in campaign? Group with a friend, farm some more beatable content, or trade. Whatever you feel is the best way to do it.

Feel like its unfair that others are getting ahead of you in standard because of trading? Well #1) they are getting that gear from someone far ahead of them! And #2) SSF.

Stop possibly distracting the devs with BS non-issues.
Disagree.

If buying an item make the game too much easy for you, play SSF or don't trade. Actually, the later if you want to play with some friend and share loot.

Enforcing SSF for everyone will "probably" be the worst for the majority. Not that I want to speak for others, but I strongly believe that the majority play trade league, at least for the ease of currencies access now that there is the trading system in-game.

It's not because trading exists that you must or should trade. Trading is purely optional. Even what you want to trade is. Enjoy crafting but bored about not having that essence/omen in particular ? Great, trade for currencies. Tired of not dropping this unique in particular that will enable your build ? Buy only this one.
Just set the cursor and limit yourself to what you feel is legit and don't look at what other are doing.

You know, by posting here you are admitting that it is an issue? What do you think devs look for when they are looking for community feedback? I would imagine they look for threads with a lot of posts. That's the mark of a controversial topic, such as trade. Bad suggestions and outright whining posts don't get replies. You're only replying here because there is a problem, and you don't want that problem addressed because it benefits you.

Even Kripp states in his review multiple times that there is a massive problem with trading. He's not the spokesperson for the entire community, but he's much closer to that than anyone else here.
