the XP lose is useless and only serves to stretch the game on a part that needs no stretching. End game bosses and improving the build is where the game shines. Having to play 8h to die once and lose all progress is never fun and is a bad design in any game.
Also, i was expecting something more innovating from PoE2. Not just what feels like a new league in PoE1. |

" Wrong, it exists only to annoy people and waste their time. It does not make the game harder in any way at all. It's a completely unneeded,outdated mechanic that doesn't belong in any modern game. It should be deleted so people can actually enjoy the game. |

What you guys need to realize is that the more "casual" players (of which I'm very much a part of), the dad gamers and the like, they are just finishing the campaign, starting the endgame and T1 maps. And while they are enjoying the journey so far, the XP loss is going to be a huge problem for them. Those complains are only going to be more and more frequent.

Losing XP is indeed annoying! but that's the only way to make level 100 hard to reach! and so a real achievement!
Most builds are planned around level 90 or 95, if you are dying a lot this means the build isn't great! although there are some mechanics in this early access game that need some tweaking! But still, even with a good build mistakes happens! and we may lose hours of play worth of XP! In diablo 2 (which inspired POE a lot) there was a way to recover a little from these kind of mistakes: when you die, you leave your corpse, if you recover it, your also recover 75% of the lost XP! In POE this mechanic also exist under the form of Omens ! There are 3 particular Omens that can save you: Omen of Resurgence: fully recover life/mana/ES when you reach low life Omen of Refreshment: Fully recover your flasks when you reach low life Omen of Amelioration: Prevent 75% xp loss when you die. The 2 first are cheap, the 3rd one is little expensive but worth it price and is only used as last resort! The road from 90 to 100 must be done with these Omens if you want to be safe! And remember reaching level 100 isn't needed, at 90 or 95 the character is already very powerful! reaching level 100 is just an achievement! |
