10% XP loss Death Penalty Feedback!
Ok so I think I noticed death penalty kicking in at mapping! GET RID OF IT!
Please put it on RUTHLESS mode only for those who want the extra punishment. The game is already unforgiving enough! I have ZERO HP nodes as a Ranger and even with the 1300HP and 71% evasion I have I can get my ass handed to me in T1 maps with narrow rooms making it SUPER hard to kite and such. Maps can only be done once and so can pinnacle bosses...FINE I quite like that, it also makes sense in a party doing maps that you can't revive a partner but they should at least be able to re-enter with the remaining portals. Even having 1 life each within a group I am totally fine with! As for the death penalty, its a long ass grind without it! Getting those last few crumby passive skills will make barely any difference so I see no point in a XP death penalty, you might as well let us get to 100! Most people never make it and I think that's always been a poor design choice. It doesn't take anything away from the game you still need to farm resources and min/max your gear, plus even with a totally maxed out character this games boss fights are fun enough to keep me playing long after I've "completed" the season. Hard agree on this one.
Imagine you're playing Tier 15 maps where you get maybe a couple percent level progress trying to get to level 90/91 (which literally can take days) and you die and lose a whole 10%. It's unbearable. You basically can't die at all in the end game in order to progress cause it makes the levelling to the absolute top quite impossible. |

Give it 10 minutes, we'll have people in here telling us how if they remove it, all we're going to do is die constantly to bosses to progress, and how it'll make the game easy.
Then they'll tell us it's a skill issue, without realizing that the mechanic isn't an expression of skill. There's 3 that have been common in the other threads, arguing with everyone about how bad they are at the game and devaluing/invalidating the feedback others give. We definitely need to get rid of it, but not even because it's frustrating to play with, but because there's better ways to implement this sort of stuff. And for the health of the players, it would probably help quite a few players find enjoyment in the game again. Something it seems, quite a few on the forums have lost. Oh look, Right on time. " 1300hp has nothing to do with 71% evasion. Evasion doesn't reduce damage taken. Start there to improve your build, knowledge, or gameplay. You aren't entitled to reach level 100 ; especially if you die that much, and if dying angers you that much. |

The death penalty went from being just EXP loss and eventual map loss after 6 attempts to Exp loss, Map loss, Item loss.
Not sure how any veteran thinks this is fair, because in exchange, we did not get a massive amount of item quantity or anything like that to make up for it. The current system is shit and will kill the game. Not sure who this game is being made for, but ruthless isnt fun now. |
