Mind you, from what I'm seeing those 4-7 names are saying that the game is asscheeks, breaks 7/10 core principles of good game design, yadda yadda. If GGG has simps like that, they need no critics.
If you think the game is messed up but has the potential to be good, why wouldn't you be happy it's getting a rehaul? Who knows, maybe it turns out better.
Maybe it's because they have no idea how it's going to turn out, and they won't until it's done. What they do know is what they had before and what they have now. fun vs not fun. Known vs unknown. Always scary. If ggg got it wrong, and has been doing it wrong for years, how much confidence should people have that they have the answer now?

I agree, reddit and d3 refugees don't think about the game long term, they just want their 2 week power trip every 3 months where they completely trivialize all content and repeat next league.

Also reddit is notorious for pushing agendas and narratives because the upvote/downvote system isn't just an "agree/disagree" system but is in fact very exploitative and allows to quite effectively manipulate what the general consensus regarding xyz on a subreddit is.

In PoE subreddit's case specifically, the front page is the same few thousand people circlejerking the same opinions into oblivion, just sort by new and you'll see how 9/10 things get brigade downvoted 5 minutes after being submitted. The subreddit might have 450k subscribers, but the frong page isn't a trustworthy representation of how those 450k people feel, not to mention how many of those 450k aren't even active anymore.

inb4 ggg simp/shill cuz I'm not screeching about how the game is unplayable in 3.15

Half of the [Removed by Support] on Reddit want PoE to turn into a Chinese Moba P2W fiesta. They don't want to engage with mechanics and cry when their builds can't kill a boss in half a second. They want to speed through maps and play their same OP character they've played for five years.

I was very excited when I saw the pace and the gameplay of PoE 2. I really hope that this [Removed by Support] tantrum does not affect any of the development.

The Reddit echo-chamber has already greatly affected the HC community where constant spouts of 'HC is waaaay too dangerous, don't play that you just get off-screened and 1-shot all the time!!!!!' greatly discourage new players from joining throughout the years. Whereas in reality, they have no idea what they're talking about (as always) and HC has been safer than it ever has been in the past.

I hope that GGG doesn't concede to the circus that is Reddit. I'd hate to see PoE turn into Retail WoW.

Lmao this guy has NEVER:

had 3 watchstones socketed to every region
completed every atlas map
done uber atziri
done uul-netol, esh, or chayula
killed maven

Yeah GGG ahead and continue to take feedback from players who don't even interact with end game smh

So the criteria for being able to give feedback is -
a) play only non-meta builds
b) do endgame bosses like maven, uber atziri, etc

I see this pattern in every thread trying to give positive feedback about changes, people like you jumping in to invalidate their opinions.

You're not special, and killing maven didn't give you any right to have ur feedback given priority.

So you can't kill Maven or do endgame yet you think the game should be even harder?

Don't you want to finish the game? Why would you support nerfs if you struggle at doing Maven?

Maybe it's you who're living in an echochamber.
60% of the playerbase has quit the game now at the 2 week mark.
It seems like you guys who're enjoying this patch are a shrinking minority right now.

Lol killed her multiple times last league

Spoiler

Also these other endgame bosses

Spoiler

So yeah I think the game should be harder. SSF was meant to be challenging, and a single build in ssf doing all endgame content within the first month was getting a bit too ridiculous. Can't even imagine how trivial things were on trade league
This is some peak lulz.

I hope, just for the spectacle of it, that this forum devolves into a Star Citizen-style community.

Already look like it. My first thought is they're too far gone now. No point arguing with them.

Thats the problem with putting words in other peoples mouth.

I'll admit I jumped the gun, but the subtext is pretty heavy.

Additionally, don't you think other games steam charts would show a drop around the same timeframe if it had nothing to do with the PoE patch, say if it was lockdown related as you surmised?

100% what it is.

They dont want a good game, what they want is for themselves to be overpowered and if they cant have it theyre gonna throw a fit over it.

If it was about "build variety" you wouldnt give up and fucking quit over these pathetically small nerfs by comparison to the much harsher nerfs of this games past, like the leech nerfs for example.

People are playing the meta. They know nothing but the meta. If the meta they like isnt somehow meta anymore, they cant have fun, even though the build in question is more than likely perfectly fine and usable, just not as strong. If you really enjoyed the build then having some damage or survivability reductions shouldnt impact that decision very much.

"Build diversity" is becoming a buzzword at this point. Build diversity never existed for these people to begin with because it was never about exploring builds, it was about using the same overpowered one for as long as possible to abuse it until GGG changes it.

Has absolutely nothing to do with the lack of buffs for under-performing skills that were hard to use before the nerfs and dumping additional offensive, defensive, mana, and ailment investment requirements on them as well.

Or the fact that those aren't inherently interesting mechanics, just passive checks in the building phase that add nothing to gameplay and restrict build choice. Would be nice to have some interesting options to deal with these things if they're going to be a larger focus of the game. But what am I saying, isn't it thrilling to pop a flask for additional armor, evasion, dodge, or flat damage? Corrupting blood immunity jewel, pinnacle of game design. (Whatever, we'll be getting those option and power back as rewards later, it's all about making more design room for new leagues)

Could it be that the act 1 rework amounted to little more than tweaking numbers and shuffling monsters, when the game needs an actual difficulty overhaul? Threating attacks that aren't just random one-shots in the unreadable clownfiesta that is the current state of combat clarity.

One-shots which totally undermine the idea of building a defensive character when the better option (Outside of HC) for years has been to build as offensively as possible to kill the enemy before they kill you. Reinforced by mechanics with strict timers like Delirium, Legion, Incursion, etc. Which while balanced for zoom zoom numbers, remain unchanged.

Maybe if we had Monsters that are scary not because they have soul eater, faster attacks, haste aura and attack 9,000 times per second, or scary because there are 500 of them on screen, or they because explode on death.

All this to go through the exact same long and grindy endgame 3 leagues in a row with progressively worse rewards each patch. The same endgame from last league where people were starting to get bored of watchstone and maven grind already. You know, the one where people complained about a new heavily RNG boss that was also required for a conditional kill challenge. Kinda like the four new RNG heavy bosses they added this league with their own conditional kill challenge each?

Or maybe they're tired of asking for GGG to do something about the clicking, only to have a league about placing bombs, to open chests, to pick up 20 new currency shards that only function as vendor credit. (Totally not gold BTW, Chris said so) To drop them off on the NPC every map, finding and clicking each shard and re-sorting your inventory before resuming gameplay. All so you can later interact with two of the three NPCs who also take multiple clicks per item reward. In your choice of flavor: "Micro-harvest with extra steps", "Sentient Orb of Chance", or "Overpay or /ignore minigame"

Maybe they're upset how looting and crafting has taken a backseat to farming raw currency for trading. That every system that allows people to make any kind of meaningful progress on their own in a semi-predictable and reliable manner is gutted in favor of making EVERYTHING tradable, and the only balancing measure against trade is the little bit of friction that slowly eats away at your soul when you need to whisper 20 people looking for a single item.

Maybe they want chase items and things to actually get excited about and aim for, instead of putting league and boss drops in the global pool, and decimating endgame rewards like Awakened gems. Remember chase uniques? Kaoms, Shavronnes, Mjollner, Skyforth, Acuity, Disfavor, Starforge, Cospris. Flow Untethered. The only things that held value now are the ones they left in their respective league mechanics with the exception of HH for obvious reasons.

Maybe they're tired of seeing if GGG will finally design a new mechanic that isn't more rewarding to run in Quarry instead of maps for the first 2-4 weeks of the league.

Maybe they're tired of beta testing the game again every league, seeing what flavor of F'd up sirus is this time, what new bugs will appear. Not enjoying invisible and t-posing mobs or being caught in a design limbo between PoE 1 & 2. Where changes like triggered mana costs feel awful now, but are clearly shortcutting to fix holes for the new gem socket system so people aren't running 5 additional 6L trigger setups for free.

Heres a long shot for you, maybe some people even enjoyed harvest without using discord crafts to print perfect items. Because even after playing for two months solid, it was still possible to find incremental upgrades for themselves while mapping and it encouraged working on more crafting projects beyond items you want for your own character.

But nah, you're probably right, we all just want to be OP. I mean that is the genre right?
The people posting here play the same meta build which can be freely viewed in their profiles and i would almost guarantee the people with them hidden would show similar.

If it was about build diversity, you wouldnt have an issue trying to play something else. Why are we pretending like people complaining and using build diversity as an excuse actually care about build diversity ? Thats nothing more than a scapegoat excuse because their meta build got nerfed and they dont like it. If you truly like about the game your first response would not be complaining, theres plenty of viable, strong builds still. You cant scream build diversity is suffering when you refuse to play anything else just because its less powerful than your meta build, or alternatively, not play that same meta build just because it lost damage.

The game literally has no chase because the zoomer generation who always want things faster and easier. "Uniques are too rare, we want them too, muh build diversity!". GGG changes the drop rates, everyone has them and now those same people scream about them having no value, dont use them.

More on chase items. Whiners begged for easier crafting systems because they saw other people had mirror tier gear they didnt and whined about it. GGG implemented Harvest and all those people got their way with that league. As soon as GGG realized their fuck up they nerfed it (and its not even that nerfed).

How do you implement chase items when you have an overly vocal crowd actively ruining the game by forcing you to make garbage changes to the game for the sake of "my play time". Casuals on this game arent some 15-30 minute, once a week players, theyre 1-2 hour a day players. The fact is this community has a bunch of lazy, self entitled individuals who dont care about the game at all.

Again on chase items. Now that these people have effectively ruined the thrill of rare, powerful uniques dropping, ruined itemization via completely broken crafting, how the hell do you ever implement anything that tops that ? You literally cant. You just completely obliterated all design space for new uniques unless you gate them through ultra rarity and they are at minimum, better than double elevated influence pieces or well rolled double influence pieces.

You effectively killed off all ground loot in the process as well. Im sure another thing you would mention is "ground loot sucks!", yeah, it does. How do you improve it when youve been put in a position where youve given players everything they asked for and the loot drops no longer matter unless theyre a high tier currency or high item level influence based ? You dont because you cant.

On to the looting part. Guess what happens when you devalue everything and make it so everyone is able to craft gear with ease, with no currency investment at all ? Let me tell you. You ruin the economy and force people into farming currency for gear they either dont know how to make, or dont have the time to make. Harvest completely ruined the games trade economy and the mid-good tier item range. Things that would normally sell, no longer sell because anyone can easily harvest craft an item.

This forces virtually all parties into currency farming because items have no fucking value unless theyre extremely good.

I could say much, much more but it is absolutely incredible how unaware of yourselves you people are and the problems you caused with the game, then have the audacity to blame the game developers for the changes YOU asked for and the problems YOU created after they catered to those demands.
Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

Labyrinth salt farm miner.

"But my build diversity" , "Game is too hard!" - Meta drone playing the same 1-3 builds for years.
