These two problems are not mutually exclusive, you can increase difficulty while preserving build diversity and progression speed. We're all playing the same game, if it isn't a steam problem, why would 30% of the steam players choose note to play but not 30% of the standalone client or console players? Do you just want to be right about very few players joining a third-party forum for a free-to-play game? Go ahead, pat yourself on the back. All this "zoomer vs OG slow" stuff is pretty cringe. I've been here since open beta, back when there was no atlas or map sustain and aoe clear was not a thing. I have no idea what golden age of slow you're referring to is, care to name a league? They dont want a good game, what they want is for themselves to be overpowered and if they cant have it theyre gonna throw a fit over it. If it was about "build variety" you wouldnt give up and fucking quit over these pathetically small nerfs by comparison to the much harsher nerfs of this games past, like the leech nerfs for example. People are playing the meta. They know nothing but the meta. If the meta they like isnt somehow meta anymore, they cant have fun, even though the build in question is more than likely perfectly fine and usable, just not as strong. If you really enjoyed the build then having some damage or survivability reductions shouldnt impact that decision very much. "Build diversity" is becoming a buzzword at this point. Build diversity never existed for these people to begin with because it was never about exploring builds, it was about using the same overpowered one for as long as possible to abuse it until GGG changes it. If the current state of the game were so good like some want others make believe then they wouldnt patrol the forums. Furthermore, one shouldn't be allowed to post on forums about the state of the game in general if they haven't never got a full atlas, Shaper, Sirus, Breachlords and Maven kills. They just don't know the game. Finishing the acts with your spectre necro in 3.15 doesn't make you an expert on this game.
