I always looked at my packs as month to month rent. They entitle me a place to live, but I don't own the place. I can submit my complaints to the landlord , suggest ways to make the property better, etc... but in the end , They only owe me what is included in the rent, which is the game in its current state. I am also aware they can evict me at any time, and in turn I can move out and find another place to live whenever I feel like it.

Nailed it :)

Hey, that's actually a healthy and grown up way to look at it. Well done.

It is pretty unhealthy to me, since games used to cost a fixed amount of money and then you could play them as much as you'd want. Now they expect you to drop 40-50$ on an online service every once and a while and they can drop the servers on a dime, if they feel like it. That's a very big anti consumer shift in practices.

because there is nothing to discuss. 3.14 and 3.15 patches are garbage and 60%+ of players have quit. the game is in the worst shape ever. there's nothing positive about that.
dead game

Different payment model for different kind of goods, it's, dunno, like drinking at home vs drinking at a bar. It's cheaper to drink at home but if you go to a bar you can have a barstool philosophy debate with other patrons, maybe play darts or pool, you don't have to get up and go to the fridge to get your beer, if you overdo it and puke, someone else will clean it up and so on.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
