This game is an abusive P2W slot machine feeding off of peoples' addictions.

Pay to win is not the same as Pay for quality of life.
But there are many issues with the game, not least of which is the learning curve, required external resources and randomness. you don't need to spend money to get into the game, and by the time you 'need' extra stash space you've had enough free hours that you can't really complain about throwing a handful of dollars GGG's way. |

" Its the same thing. Whether its called pay to win or pay for an advantage doesn't matter. Otherwise nothing is pay to win unless there is a big red button you can press to win by paying a certain amount. |

I'm just waiting for the day they'll let me spend the exact amount needed to get the Hideout Jukebox (I already have 15 GGG coins and I don't want to buy $5/50 coins and still be left with 15 coins).
They did let this happen once, but that was back when coins were bought in multiples of 5 and store items were often not sold with prices that were multiples of 5. They let me buy something for the exact price so that I was no longer stuck with 1 coin that could never be spent with the new price structure. It's pay to play since players are doomed with 4 tabs. Addiction is part of the business plan for sure (punishment + reward cycle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reinforcement )
/e no bitchin tho, nothing new. Last edited by Universalis#5776 on May 31, 2021, 7:16:36 AM

P2W? How do you "win" in PoE exactly?
Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris.

I've been playing PoE for years and even I can admit that unless your playing SSF the stash tabs really help in trading.
So using irl money for an advantage = p2w. |

It's far from P2W.
The rest is true, more so these days. But... so it every single other non-B2P game on the market. I'm shocked that they even made a league mechanic which is, in essence, gambling... it is certainly ethically questionable. |

Some of you people don't understand the concept of "pay to win".
As a blunt example: You find a new PVP game and play it. You find out it has a in-game microtransaction store where you can buy really good gear that you would either not be able to find on your own, or struggle to get it. That's pay to win. I find it amusing that a lot of you seem to think PoE has a win condition. There is none. You set the win conditions yourself, be it complete the challenges, make your meme build clear endgame content, or whatever else you may think of. Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris.
