Don't get me wrong at all, I'm a long term lover of ARPGS, especially POE. But at the tip of all my friendslist tongues are 'will I still play after D4 clears house'. And despite this being nonchalantly on all of your tongues, and the fact I consider myself a bit of a clever cat, I never caught that tongue so to speak. Hmphhh, I feel a need to translate: I never thought about how much Diablo 4 will change the atmosphe of Path of Exile until now. Here's what we do know (this is coming from an ex pro currently).
1) Path of Exile is a great game, but an incomplete one. Certain builds just crush, other ones feel outclassed and neutered. No game should ever have that, and this cannot be argued, especially to someone like myself who knows alternative mechanics that allow for a wide range of build equities.
2) Diablo seems to have the atmospheric and graphical advantage. This cannot be argued. The main boss fight in PoE looks similar to graphics you'd see on NewGrounds.com or Myspace backgrounds compared to boss fights like Malthael, etc.
3) Diablo 4 will have new content accessible to pro players. Pros like me will be able to meld and change the meta once again, and players like you will benefit. This is something we all should be thankful for.
Biggest point, Point #4.
4) PoE is trade to win, and solo self found builds can take months of grinding to not even come close to finishing at all. Diablo offers multi-systems which allow deviant strategies which in turn, create a higher tier meta. This cannot be argued. Even in Diablo 1, there are strategies an advanced gamer can use to take complete heed of the entire gameplay, categorically if you follow me.
I'll let the regulars decide, I don't think a pro should speak for everyone. So what do the common folk and casuals think? Will you still play your game as a shipwrecked Titanic when a giant Yacht is available currently?
Obligatory reminder that you couldn't do A10 on a Jugg because it was " impossible". Even for a 'pro' such as yourself.
Ha. You crack me up.

Is this a joke post? Because it reads like bad satire. "Pro" ARPG players. KEKW. And are you seriously comparing Duriel to high tier boss fights in PoE? Hold on one second, lemme go chug 30 thawing potions.
That's the difference between you and I. No, I'm not going to buy even a single thawing potion. I don't take the easy way out, since I've been there, and I've done that. Meanwhile, the PoE guy has an inventory stocked full of large health potions, ice weapon on follower, and probably calling in a favor from an alt to speed run him. Meanwhile, the D3 player like me earns his keep. Which is why I retain my respect.
In my ex-gaming guild (2x leader btw, 4x officer), anyone who couldn't beat Duriel without using 3 TPS or less WHILE using no offhand or follower would get cut to 2nd string. Who did you say you were again? Nobody?
That's the difference between Diablo players and PoE players concurrently. The PoE player froths at the mouth about the 'next level' and next cheesy item build, while the D3 player looks back at the last rift or grind he did, and figures out key areas in which he can implement speed or efficiency improvements. Back when PoE first came out, my elite gaming friends and I referred to PoE as the 'microtransaction gamer graveyard', because the gamers 'who could' kept doing in D3 what they always did, grinding and winning.
Inb4 you show off some green helm you paid $55 RM for. Lul.

What about people unable to beat the story/Kitava with a Marauder? What if someone told you beating Duriel with a Barb without using no follower was "impossible"?
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I crafted a bunch of anti-element potions in Genshin Impact but keep forgetting to use them when they would actually be most beneficial. Do I earn respect for not taking the easy way out?

If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

I won't lie, the gem augment system in Path of Exile is actually implemented very well. We can't say the overall experience is as smooth as a game like Diablo 3 currently, though. This cannot be argued.
