The giant Elephant in the room currently (Expros take on meta)
" Yes, just like how POE clearly ripped off D1/D2/D3 for stuff like Rogue Exiles, Einhar encounters, Alva encounters, Delving, Prophecies, Maps as craftable items, special realms like Breachstones, Fragment sets, Legion encounters, and of course general item crafting to modify sockets, reroll magic/rares, reroll uniques, socket linking/unlinking, corrupting, table crafting, and all the rest of the every pixel being totally stolen/copied. In fact, there's no need to play POE; it's all in one of the Diablo games, which are cheaper.. You just have to use your imagination, and a little bit of the quality crack that makes 'ex-pros' come to the POE forums to whine about life treating them to experiences that seem to share some characteristics. Like srsly this one game back in the 90's had guns.. so all the new games with guns are obviously just ripping off that 90's game. We all know this. |

The main reason why PoE is in this state is that GGG takes upon themselves more than they can handle.
They will or cannot hire more people. You cannot make a new league, balance skills, make MTX, fix bugs with the people they have, maybe not enough or not that good, that is something for GGG to figure out. Problem is PoE is in decline, no more appreciation for GGG's work, only bad comments and what PoE is lacking. All in all, I agree that every skill should be able to take you through entire game, I for instance waited for years so GGG can fix Explosive arrow, it lasted 1 league <)>... |

Everything I've said so far hasn't been able to be argued yet, and I'm not even trying to argue I'm just saying the facts as we see them head on.
The worst part about this is, the current opinion of a Pro or ex-Pro player should always be heeded and never argued with. I get it, yeah this is a community and there are bad eggs here and there, but the general tone of this forum is no respect or heeding the opinions of top players. "whose on first... grade reading comprehension".
Shame you'll never 'touch the base' of this because your mind is only capable of impeccably tiny bunts that have the Umpire of Life saying 'Yer outta there'? Somehow I do bet you have foul balls. |

" First of all, you can't legitimate your argument just because you claim some sort of self-imposed accolade.. That's just not sensible at all. PoE is a fine game. It could even be called "outstanding." PoE is not Diablo. Only a few general comparisons can be made between the two and that's generally due to the similarities evident in any ARPG game. That's why "ARPG Games" are a "genre." Watching an old bicycle wheel rust and climbing Mount Everest are not activities included in the same genre of... stuff to do. But, you spend your OP delving into minutia that has nothing at all to do with comparing two different games. Further, you assumptions are... badly contrived. Since you are a "Pro" you'll already know these things and probably have coffee with the Blizz dev team. Certainly, you have your own permanent Visitor badge, so this will be old news... But, take a look at something: https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/23308274/diablo-iv-quarterly-update-february-2020 There's an increased focus on console development with Diablo IV. This has always "bothered" PC Gamers. I guess the whole Skyrim thing really ticked a bunch of people off. But, we can't ignore the impact of dedicated gaming machines and the pleasures of living-room gaming. Blizzard can't overlook that, either. So, what does that mean, exactly? It's just one tiny aspect of their development, but I'm sure you have very professional thoughts on the subject... Go ahead, mr. "ExPro" and illuminate us with your professional critique. What could this possibly mean and what should our lowly expectations be as neophyte incompetent non-pro gamers? PS: "Everything you've said," by and large, hasn't been worth directly addressing because the validity of those claims require facts that are not in evidence. Your "pro" status is not being demonstrated in your arguments. This whole pretense of you being some kind of "pro" that should be "heeded" is... laughable. You are not a professional "PoE Player" because no such animal exists. Show us your license and bona fides. Please cite the licensing agency that oversees your performance in your state/region/nation. Please list the professional organizations you have been accredited by. Please list your subscriptions to professional journals. It would be helpful to note professional and required symposiums and continuing education programs that you participate in every year. A list of formal institutions offering formal instruction in the skills of your profession as well as their modes of advancement would also be welcomed. Organizations supporting your profession and its ethical employment concerns would also be appreciated. If you streamed something on teh youtube's once and got auto-paid because Youtube dumped an ad on it... That doesn't even make you a "professional" Youtube streamer. It is wildly possible you could consider yourself some form of "entertainer" at a stretch. Quality is not implied in that title, so it's fine. |
