Wolcen overtook POE as the new number 1 arpg game on Steam (127k concurrent players at the moment)

aaaaaaaaaaand it's done.

People are finishing the game, wrapping up the end game content and have had their fill.

Gotta keep in mind a large percentage of the people playing Wolcen (and the reason stats stayed high for as long as they did) is people putting a lot of hours in to wrap everything up in time for the next PoE season.

It probably would have done better if they didnt chop off the last two acts to add later on as an update or DLC.

It's a pretty good game, but had much the same impact as D3 did all those years ago, not much more than a bump on the road for the juggernaut PoE is.

Neither am I, however, you fail to address the point I actually raised. Which is that comparing current PoE to launch wolcen is dishonest. PoE has had nearly a decade of fixes, changes, and added content while wolcen has not had the time yet. And in terms of bugs, launch poe (or even essence league poe, when I joined) has as manny if not more bugs than wolcen.

Are you referring to Bleeding Edge, Winter’s Grasp, Bulwark of Dawn, or whatever? Of course they are functioning much earlier because they are broken and do unintentionally high damage.

when lots (I would say about 1/4) of Wolcen passive tree either doing nothing or wrong thing, it is really hard to say which game needs less investment to enable a build. However, if you are saying it in a sarcastic way, then yes, until last week's patch, you could literally pick TWO passives in Siegebreaker node and became regen and block god.

Not those specific skills, though bleeding edge is one of the top skills at the moment. But was referring to the fact you can start as a melee type and wind up as any type of ailment/DoT specialist. Want to be a cyclone fire type dot build? you can. Want to be a poison,aether,cold,shock,occult, holy or any other flavor of dot with ANY skill in the game, you can. And with much less rigamarole than you would go through in poe, but you still didn't address the fact that poe at launch was as little content, as buggy, and much less popular than wolcen is.

Your essentially locked into a single rigid class for the entire game until you reach end game and eventually find some single unique that unlocks your ability to use one specific thing of another class, since the odds of finding a build defining unique during the actual campaign is close to zero.

If by "much less rigmarole" you mean "Ima euqip my AXE and be a FighTer!" then sure. Since the weapon defines which of the 3 classes of skills you can use, which then defines what build(s) you can use.

I mean technically you can use a catalyst to be a "hybrid" so long as you stick with little single handed weapons. That's not exactly flexible though.

I mean, I dont dislike the game, it looks fun. It's like a diablo3 clone with a basic passive tree.

Its just release hype. give it a month or two and unless they fix the damn game no one will be playing it.

Oh so you are saying PoE in Essence had bugs that let you dupe items, have "infinite currency", have bilion Magic find and so on?

There is diffrence between game breaking bugs (that Wolcen was full of) and some random bug that makes essence not work on some items.

Currently 25.714 Positive & 17.936 Negative reviews.

While the concurrent player count did a nose dive.



Reviews began constantly to plummet after the first (hype)day on 13th february.

Its pretty obvious....wolcen has 100% copy of poe and diablo 3....
While diablo 3 is currently pretty dead, Path of Exile is always dead end of league....

So when Wolcen launched, both player bases have tried this out...especially since some streamers went playing it..

Alot of players followed to try it out....So this got the peak that wolcen reached.....however

This game killed it self....the first few days were so bad....with server problems...and the few days after people like myself found out this game is the buggiest game ive ever played.....
Trying refund wont work as most like me played more than 2 hours already...but I'd never EVER buy it if I knew what I know now....

The gameplay itself feels like diablo 3, which I played so much that I'm sickened by its gameplay.

People who enjoy path of exile end game enjoy complexity....wolcen has abit, but like 5% of what poe offers, so every1 leaves this game, not to come back...in a long loooong time
