Can't unlock inner citadels post 3.9.0c Hotfix 3

Yes and no.

Not my first character, played aurabot at the league start with friends, after we did some maps I deleted the aurabot (not planning to play her anymore so might aswell) and now I'm stuck with no sign of zana, citadels and highest tier maps I've seen are 5. No watchstones/citadels. Nothing.

Edit: Current active quests are Find the Elderslayers, The Crusader and Uber Lab.

Generally yes, but not when running master missions in the areas where citadels are missing.

Converted all old maps

Quest line said to do the corners so I did all four and got the stones.

Currently I am unable to unlock the inner regions, tried the three different map thing first then just some random ones and can't get the citadel to show up.

current maps, both fresh drops and ones converted to it (i used to map convert button before you disabled it) :(

well if i find them on the map yes, from my hideout nope.

i did run a legacy map at first to unlock everything. I have no idea what character i might have gotten a corner unlocked with first. but i've tried running dozens of inner area maps with all my main ones.

EDIT- so jumped on random character this morning and checked map in oriath, showed that i had done the new quest stuff. decided to run a few maps and BAM. zana shows up and i get the tower in 2 of the areas i have run many many times before on other characters. definately seems to be character locked or something, since i have done those maps many times on other characters trying to get the tower to show up. no idea if i can push to see if i get one of the boss guys to spawn in them yet though.
2nd EDIT- OK after finding which character i used first i have now been able to get all 8 watchtowers. no idea if i can spawn influence yet, just been focusing on gettin gthe towers at least. but ya if this is character bound/locked this could have HUGE game breaking issues for HC players if they rip that character at any point.

FIXED - after swaping hideout, the next t3 map had the gate

So the only connection I see between people having this problem is that if you unlock the corners before you unlock the inner citadels, then you can't unlock them after. Not sure if the problem only occurs if you just unlock the corner citadels or if it's when you actually get the watchstones. I unlocked a couple of citadels in the middle, but as soon as I did the corner ones (got the watchstones) then after I couldn't unlock more citadels.

And the whole thing about it being tied to a character, well I did only play one character so that doesn't really apply. Maybe it's connected, sure. But it's not the reason for the problem, because again, it happens with only one character as well.

Hoping for a fix soon as it really stops you from progressing!

Ok, it just worked for me now...

I have kept trying to run a T3+ map on the zones without a citadel, with different "atlas-states". And now I had the watchstone fight ready in one corner zone. And then ran a map, and I got the citadel portal in the end. So without changing anything else I tried running a map in the last zone I was missing a citadel and it worked there as well.

So I'm not sure if it was the "atlas-state" I was talking about or if GGG have done something just now. But I'm good now! (without master mission btw).

I have unlocked all inner citadels, but cannot spawn any of the Conquerors in the inner regions (tried around 40 maps). No such problem in the outer maps thou.

Atlas blocked - Unable to obtain maps anymore required to reach boss fight and get watchstones back. So basically stuck …. :(

- Description of what happened:
I did the 4 first exile boss fights in each of the 4 corners of my atlas to obtain 4 watch stones. I socketed all 4 into Valdo's Rest area. The atlas showed them red (at tier 14). Unsure if this would affect the maps in my stash, I started running the lower versions of the maps in that area (e.g. tier 1 pier, tier 2 peninsula etc.) and the boss encounter happened twice. I continued running all the maps I had in my stash (ca. 20) until I had none left, but never got the third boss encounter. Now I can't seem to get maps in Valdo's Rest to drop anymore. I assume because they are tier 14 in my atlas and the rest of my atlas is full white, max tier 5? Not sure if this is intentional (will continue running other maps and see if I can get a map to drop from Valdo's rest), but I'm afraid I might have ruined my atlas with no chance of resetting it.

I tried both. Run some with master missions, some without.

PS: I guess I could migrate out of SSF and start buying maps from Valdo's Rest area from other players, but I explicitly don't want to do that.





[EDIT] Eventually I was able to buy lighthouse (tier 10) off Zana in Valdo's Rest area with which I managed to get the 3rd encounter! :)) Now that I know the atlas mechanic I will take care not the lock myself out anymore like above (i.e. raise the area so high I can't obtain maps for it anymore), however maybe it would make sense to only spawn the conqueror encounters in maps of the tier they are on in the atlas?? That way I could never have blocked my atlas the way I did ..

PPS: Loving the league and new endgame. Just need to iron few things out so people don't block themselves. ;)
