The arguement against auto trading is what, exactly?...

you could just search/google for the dozens of threads explaining why from both developers and players.

You mean for the answer/s that just don't fly? The point....you missed it.

You are NOT supposed to trade constantly. You're supposed to trade once and a while. It's not SUPPOSED to be a short cut to get your atlas filled in an afternoon. It's not SUPPOSED to be a way to gain wealth geometrically without even getting a drop.

No you're the one who missed it. The devs have made their stance clear.
Fuck auto trading. I didn't really care either way, but I'm starting to enjoy the constant "scam" threads of people crying for sympathy because they were dumb enough to just throw valuable stuff at a total stranger.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

People are wanting everything NOW, NOW, NOW and they're getting burned for being impatient.

Lets go over this again; their answer is stupid and does not fly.

LMAO
They have added an AH, its called trade on console. What can I say about it, it worse than PC trading. Cant find stuff nearly as easy, people don't respond to offers most of the time, and much of the time when they do they reject your offer of there asking price. The devs idea of an AH is worse than their idea for trading, and if you ever get an AH made by them you will likely wish they had not made changes
No PoE players are like a nice housewife, who stays even though their partner is just terrible at some things.

Trade is supposed to be shit, players are supposed to scam you if you don't pay attention, every league is supposed to be a buggy mess until a month in. Poe players are like an abused housewife who keeps returning to their husband every 3 months, it's amazing.

People make fun of WoW but this is exactly what PoE is, the WoW (current leader/best) of ARPG, with a playerbase basically going "the game is good therefore everything is fine"

I rarely trade, but when I do, it's usually a bad experience. When I get whispers for the occasional items i put on sale, sometimes for just 1-2 chaos when the league was early when i listed them, I feel bad about not answering because I'm mapping and would rather keep the extra portals for loot/in case i die.

If the intention of having a shitty trading system that is almost completely dependent on using 3rd party website (poe.trade) and program (trade macro) to raise barrier of entry and making the trading part of the game extremely unfriendly to newer players, then it is going down the wrong direction. You can make trade more or less limiting strictly using game mechanics. In fact, they should flat out ban the trade macro and poe.trade, and then actually build their trade assuming such 3rd party interfaces do not exist, because players should not be severely disadvantaged for not using those interfaces.

The appeal for the current trading system is basically just players thinking they are better because they deal with the shitty system and aren't some plebs that play D3 or whatever. That's fine; most games' purists are like that.

I like the game very much, but trading is not one of its current strengths. The action of trading does NOT generate any extra wealth in the system directly. It only indirectly generates extra wealth if people end up wasting less time doing trades and consequently have more time to play the game itself. If this is your concern, you can easily adjust drop rates to account for it instead of settling with a bad trading system.
