The idea would be nice,or at least a third party program like poe trade macro or something that would hide the MTX. I've got plenty of MTX, but I rarely use them, don't really care for them that much, but I do get annoyed when I either trade or go in a rota and have some people with the most ridiculous,pompous MTX out there. My pc can handle the crap, my laptop struggles with the MTX,the game otherwise works fine. When I game on the go, I would really not like to wait 2 minutes for the game to load all the animations because someone thought that having dozens of effects on their character will make the game fun. Some of them look truly ridiculous,eye cancer comes to mind. A third party program would come in handy, not only would it offer better performance for those who don't have the latest in hardware, but it would also cause fewer cases of being annoyed by triple rainbow effects on a character. There is a third party application that removes effects but it will get you banned for using it sadly so i've never dared try it and sadly even if GGG did greenlight it as ok to use it would bring with it too many exploits for them to even consider it sadly. The only real options here are to add the ability in some way to turn them off or for GGG to make some massive optimizations in the game itself and specifically how MTX are handled by the client. Nobody else wants to see your out of place rainbow warrior. to each their own, i often get compliments on my characters design as i mix and match different sets. Many ask where such and such piece is , so it is generating GGG money. If someone is using an overly flashy skill effect in party , i just ask them to turn it off or i kick them from party. see the pirate above for what that might be. Not going to happen. The point of cosmetic MTX is to make your character look badass and show off. If they added that option there would be no incentive to spend real money on them. I spent around $180 for the full Zenith armor suit with cape, dog, and two skins for each 1h sword.
