I think you're right and it will never change and I hope so, because while a lot of my MTX is there simply because I bought the supporter packs it came with, I have also specifically bought things so I could make a themed look for my character and show it off. Not to show off how awesome I am, because you can't tell that by looking at MTX..

..but to complete the look and feel of a build. You should be somewhat able to tell what build I'm playing by looking at my character, ideally.

I know i know. Its bad and wrong. I shouldnt ve gone down to his level. My bad.

I've purchased as many effects that i could afford that i like from the cash shop, plenty of tabs and brought a lot of friends who also spent a lot of money on this game and our guild.

To say that people don't deserve to ask for this is just illogical, GGG doesn't have to make it happen but to say it wont or to say that people dont deserve to have the ability to play the game without the screen locking up is absurd and not how you retain customers.

GGG has to make some massive changes to their game to give back play-ability to a large number of people who for example don't have an SSD and because of the massive surge of MTX and also the Scale of those mtx increasing rapidly is causing those users to literally disconnect trying to join town, to disconnect when loading into their map.

To say "just upgrade your pc" not everyone has the spare cash to go drop 100-800$ on a new gpu or another 100-200 on a decent ssd, Honestly most of my spare cash has gone into the MTX and various tabs.

I suffered a great deal from this, i can play fallout 4 on ultra with modded higher res textures with 0 screen lock even with insane things going on but i cant hardly do a single map with 2-3 people sometimes in path of exile anymore.

Starting at about Delve the game has become extremely cumbersome in its resource usage and the way it manages unloading textures and a lot of things, I went from playing every day for many hours and doing hundreds if not up to a thousand maps a day to almost not playing at all until i was able to get an SSD, I stopped crashing to the login screen every single time i loaded into an area but my fps even though i actually UPGRADED my gpu just before delve to one 3x more powerful than i was using my general FPS and client performance went wayyyy down.

^so get that through your head i was on an inferior pc setup AFTER DX11 upgrades and over the course of 1-2 leagues i went from having a stable game to being unable to group up with people despite being on significantly more powerful hardware.

The average amount of physical ram being used by the game has gone up almost 200% since just before incursion for me, there's a lot of issues with the MTX.

So ill take on all the arguments here on how GGG would lose money and say simply this option would remove all mtx so it would also remove YOURS, how many people are going to disable it if that were the case?

Then party's, partying isn't really even considered a popular thing so disabling mtx as an option only in party's would be even better and have less of an effect and really not do a damn thing to sales, When your screen is frozen for a solid 1-3 seconds because your party is a nuclear rainbow of on-kill MTX and other things how the hell does that encourage someone to buy MTX?

Often enough i see people asking others to disable various MTX or even outright BANNING them from party's because of it, How is this increasing sales when its frustrating party hosts and all of the people just trying to group up and make some gains?

And this isn't just isolated to PC so the whole upgrade argument is just a bad joke, Ps4 users are complaining about this too and that should be an easy one since hardware is static so they only had to optimize that release for that hardware instead of with the PC which is nearly impossible for them to cater to everyone's personal hardware configuration.

This needs to happen, The people fighting it are mostly not even posting arguments in this thread but rather insulting, provoking and belittling the users who do try to express their opinion, Say why you think it would be bad, why you think it wont be implemented, fight the topic all you want but actually contribute.

But in-case you can't do that i misspelled one word in my post if you want to find it to support your argument that my post is invalid :D

If you had read more than 3 lines of my post you would have seen my propositions as to how this could be done without severely affecting their sales if at all.

So tell me this how would a player who has their mtx enabled ever know that a player disabled it?

please feel free to defend this position when if you look at chris's priority's he's trying to keep player retention high and one of the most common complaints for people not playing a league is simply put screen lock and other things, any optimizations in this area is going to increase player retention and thereby increase sales.

If you are having fun you'll probably invest more in that product.

Edit: and im not defending the OP im defending the topic in general its something i've personally wanted to see added to the game but i also would like it to be implimented in the least impactful way to their sales as possible.

If GGG doesn't do well then my favorite ARPG will not last, so i want them to do well and while any idea a user or myself might have here on the forum in the end its up to GGG on

existance of that option would simply make every player assume that every other player has disabled it. there would be no point of showing off at all.
this would cause instant downscaling of sales.
and about your physical upgrade argument;
no game has to go down on performance just cuz you have a bad setup. this is a free to play game and they owe you nothing.

It's very simple.

The game has content, some of which are skins and effects. The game has a certain minimum system specification requirements to it. These requirements are clearly stated on the website and store fronts. If you do not meet these minimum specifications and still choose to play the game, that's up to you, but you cannot then expect the developers to disable content to make the game run better for you. It is in fact you that has failed to comply to the aforementioned specifications. Mind you, minimum specifications are usually not comfortable by any means. They are usually "won't instantly crash" level of game play comfort.

So much simply comes down to expectations being unrealistic. Blame me, GGG, the world around you all you want, but know that it's all you will ever do if you follow that path.

Not everyone is paranoid and neurotic and going to obsess over the fact someone can or cannot see their mtx in a party.

^this is my favored option, not sure if you've been in a real party before but they dont generally move at a pace where cosmetics matter, the meta is now around having leechers and insane clear speed, people really arent going to be affected by that option very much as they are too busy trying to keep up with the flash and his windripper in burial chambers.

And if you actually read my post i stated that i've actually upgraded to more than sufficient hardware AND that this was after the big dx11 and content streaming update that took the game from pre-loading almost everything to simply streaming it making SSD much better and traditional HDD much worse.

I went from having amazing performance around that time with even higher forced anti aliasing and other things that made the game even more cumbersome to run to the point we're at now where my 16GB ram is being eaten completely by this game when not that long ago i could keep this game open for days and never have to restart it to clear ram.

My pc exceeds these requirements by quite a bit in every single area so i see your argument and i dismiss it completely, My gpu alone has 400 more cuda cores and higher core clock than the reccomended.

Most of my posts around this topic have been completely in the opposite direction saying that if GGG can improve the performance of these things people wouldn't need to be here asking for it but we aren't getting any significant quality of life on performance.

I want people to see my MTX just like everyone else but i bought my MTX to please myself not the masses.

I bought from the cash shop fairly often until the games performance started to drastically go down, Do you honestly think im the only person in the game like that?
If they improved the performance i would definitely throw more money at them, but I won't just throw money into the trash can for the sake of it.

Edit: and this topic has been made far too personal by several users deviating from the topic to try to incite argumentative behavior, I'm not supporting this because i cant play the game its actually quite rare that i have to worry about screen lock these days but i do have friends who arent as fortunate as me and do fulfill the games requirements and its nearly impossible for them to play the game some days depending on who's in the party and who's using what.


And AGAIN i feel i need to repeat myself here about the fact that more and more party hosts are banning users for having laggy builds and MTX from being in their partys, This is not a good trend and it will discourage people just the same to not buy mtx if nothing at all is done to address the performance issues.

Is adding an option to disable them the only option? NOPE but its just one of many ideas and until GGG either attacks the performance in the future or adds some kind of option for this i will not be deterred from defending this topic, Though i would love to hear any other solutions that could help with this in any way for the general masses of this game.
