They're people who think maps droping too much is a bad thing.

I have to say I_NO you've somehow found the one guy who managed to unite most of the forum in agreement with you.

Also i've seen this before. Warframe with it's arcanes. DE made them more accessible to get because they were locked behind one hell of a fluster cluck of a mess and people like him appeared and cried "teh economy" while meaning "muh monopoly"
I just don't like gating content via RNG everyone should have the right to play as long as your build is cable of doing it.

There is a reason game is design with maps and map sustain at it's core. It is also designed with 3 month cycles in mind because by end of the league the economy becomes broken. Top end items become more expensive and making currency becomes harder and harder since none of the item you find have any value. That is why new league is amazing just for the sake of economy reset if nothing else.

And fact of the matter much more accessible maps will get economy to bad state faster.

why would it effect the economy? the people who currently cant access those higher maps cant run them anyway right? even if they were given access their builds would be too shit to run those maps surely?

Or are you acknowledging that people CAN do the content, and actually what you are promoting is keeping people in lower tiers of content than their builds can handle, making them play against monsters their gear and levels completely outstrip, in order to protect what? The rewards that have been attached to this content?

shouldnt the rewards be designed around the content? why would the content and its accessibility, which is essentially the core gameplay of the game, the meat and veg around which everything else revolves, be designed around the rewards already set for it? Dont you design a game that functions in terms of gameplay so that people are playing the content they should be playing, and then set the rewards that make sense from there?

it just another case of typical poe imo, the tail wagging the dog, bad design thats being justified by other bad design. We designed out reward system badly so that means we have to design our content access system badly... ok, or maybe just fix your fucking shit? how about that?
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

damn. couldn't have said it better myself.
At this point GGG should reduce map drop rates of T14+ by a slight amount. It's not even 3 days and T15 maps are 8c.

Too many maps would be a problem. Too few maps would be too. There's exactly a 0% chance that they have picked the exact right number. Last league they were too rare. This league, they MIGHT be too common. In mathematics we call this "Rolle's Theorem", and it's a perfectly viable method of establishing the value that you wish to find.

No, there is no problem with getting too many of them, as they should never have been gated behind rarity. They should have been gated behind difficulty.

This is exactly why I liked Original Inferno D3 so much. It was difficult. Like Act 2 most couldnt get past. Of course they nerfed it beftween patches 1.2-1.4 so nothing was left of a game due to terrible itemization, build varity, etc. Only thing really it had was difficulty and combat (elites were like a WoW raid nevermind bosses)

POE is like exactly opposite. Poor combat and difficulty (until very gated end game) great itemization and variety.
