They're people who think maps droping too much is a bad thing.

Honestly this is just tip of the iceberg. Everything is tied to maps in poe

Basically it sounds like someone doesn't want to lose dominance over the market.

The more people running higher level content means that while supply does increase, so does the demand.

The thing is, maps gating progression leads far more to frustration than anything. Anyone who's tried to trade for maps knows how frustrating that can be.

I have 125 atlas completion, i had to buy 30ish maps. Given tools to buy in bulk it took 15 trades and 15 min. Omg such huge problem. Stop saying it is such problem. It is bull.

More supply = more demand can i have what you smoking?

I'd say that not being able to sustain maps, being stuck in yellows forever and having to use the cancerous trading system makes people regaquit.

That is part we disagree. Look at d3 they did exactly what you asking for. It is bad for longevity of the game league is 3 month long there is jo reason every one should be at shaper in a week, especially not in ssf. But at least this is a valid point of view unlike rest of the thread.
It's all about economy. They want maps to have value so they tighten screws. That said I never have issue, SSF even, just end up repeating maps quite a bit. If you watch pro racers to 100 they do same thing until map tide kicks in then they chain T15.

This is false, sustaining T16 maps feels normal, and not doing it is a giant kick in the nuts. Maps are just generic boring content, not a reward. It's all stick no carrot.

Sure but it's all relative this doesn't matter in a fresh economic league. This is a non-point that doesn't meant anything. Unless the sky is falling whenever they nerf or buff anything at all ever.

Sure the fact that delve fixes the broken map system is less important because the system is less broken. You missed Delve's biggest draw though, which is that it was completion based progression instead of random, so you could go ahead and progress without relying on drops.

All the same non-points here again. This all comes down to what's good this league is different and that's scary. Except that that's the point of leagues.

And that's PoE's biggest flaw, that maps are rare. That progression is random, and that everything is tied to that randomness. Now that we've fixed that, we can get to fixing other stuff. Dare we fight the speed clear meta? You're point 7 says that you think we are. Dare we make fights actually difficult now that they're accessible enough for people to practice? Maps being rare is exactly what was standing in the way of this game actually being challenging, instead of a boring game you play while watching TV.

This is literally the best part of D3. No maps you just go do content that you want to do. Great for longevity, forcing people to do boring stuff that you outlevel all the time isn't great. It's why I quit each league, the interesting content is too few and far between and you need to trade more and more to play maps, and do interesting stuff.

The only reason map drops, Sulphite, Betrayal encounters and so forth are rare is so GGG can pad their game time and prevent players from realizing that despite PoE being around for several years... the endgame is still very bare bones.

It's just this. It's padding. Map drops being rare is the equivalent to the heart systems in the mobile match 3 games.

Ill say again just make it so that you can click for the rift tier you want to run, also why stop there just remove the zana mod costs as well.

And why do we need 4 frags for atziri/shaper/elder? Stupid ppl making currency begone, just click on the boss you wanna run, which ofc should have their droprates increased cause who would want to farm for hours?

Also why does crafting cost currency? ain't nobody got time for that just let me push a button as much as i want for free rolls which should ofc be weighted towards mirror tier weapons.

You're moving the goalpost

First of thanks for actually answering rather then trolling that would be a first in this thread.

Now lets take a look

Maps are the majority of poe content if you find them boring you need to find another game. This is not a flame this is a fact. Map were are and will be backbone of the game, MAYBE in 4.0 something will change in some what no idea, highly unlikely however too many systems are tied into it.

This is actually a fair point that this is just a league lets try it out type thing. That said i am pretty sure this is not intended behavior by GGG. And the result are known when in harbinger shaper items were worthless. Or shaper is also not a content, maps arent? shaper isn't? what is left? Endless delve?

What? So relying on 8% chance to get sulphite in a map somehow not random? I am really missing your point here.

And this is just a fairy tale. Define hard content? This is GEAR based game. Something that is hard at one gear level is easy at another. Is Shaper hard? when it was first killed on HC hell ya it was look at the video entire screen was covered in ball goo, it was long it had tons of close calls. Now with enough gear it is a joke because you nearly insta phase him.

1) This game is HARD for majority of playerbase. People who can faceroll highest content in the game have zero issues finishing their atlas. People who have trouble can't face roll.
2) Lets pretend you made a system that gates thing behind difficulty. This would require top end gear and top end skill to complete. If it is only skill then throwing gear at it would make it trivial anyway. If you want it to be gear independent you not talking about ARPG.
So now you have these fights or maps or content w/e it is that requires top end gear and thus requires you to spend 100s of hours to collect this gear anyway so them being accessible means squat since you need gear to do them. And if you just give our free top gear you kill the game in weeks for majority of players.

There is a reason game is design with maps and map sustain at it's core. It is also designed with 3 month cycles in mind because by end of the league the economy becomes broken. Top end items become more expensive and making currency becomes harder and harder since none of the item you find have any value. That is why new league is amazing just for the sake of economy reset if nothing else.

And fact of the matter much more accessible maps will get economy to bad state faster.

P.S. I am sure i will be told i am just nonlifer who cant flip maps for tons of currency anyway.

Deathfairy we get it, GGG harmed your corner of the market and your lashing out because of it.
