GGG do not give in to the crying masses

Then I assume you are done with this thread which you created?
Why would i be that? Just because i dont want to derail into a beaten-to-death offtopic?

Nah i'm just here to ignore insults from other's such as yourself and get some free bumps in the process?

For starters can you point out where I insulted you?

Secondly, this isn't derailing the tread. The entire premise of this thread is that you are afraid its going to be dumbed down to "casuals" or "forum criers" or whatever label you want to apply

What people (such as yourself) don't realize, is that at the end of the day, if enough people will complain about something, GGG will do something about it. Whether its a problem that will be solved in the future (such as releasing an extra content) or a problem where things were too difficult (and if you read the patch notes, there was a lot of nerfs because things were too challenging), that is up to GGG. This has nothing to do with dumbing down the game, it has to do with equating problems from the community as a whole. When people complain about something, a lot of the time its them complaining about what really is another issue (like a lot of people complain about lack of AH, when this is really an issue with PoE's loot system)

The most prominent example, of course, is melee

A fair call. I will take that as a view that any further mention of D3 without very just relation to your original argument is derailing and deal with it accordingly.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

To be fair, I was mentioning D3 with very specific context to what this thread is talking about

You would do a much better job convincing people if your posts werent full of rhetoric and conspiratorial garbage

Just your opinion right? well in any case you are assigning negative qualites to my work, hence insulting me.

But it's okay bro, i dont take it very seriously, after all it's the interwebz. While you are busy casting judgements on how much i am aware about, etc, i spend my energy on furthering my understanding.

If you stepped into my circumference, oh then you would learn.

But, as it is, i will let you rage on about how i am another blindie trying to change nothing and resist the natural order of things, etc.

I was saying your posts were full of rhetoric like "money grabbing blizzard" and "ever since activision bought them out" and stuff like this

It matter's little how much money you earn, so long as you are making it.

Which don't add anything to the thread or your argument. All that stuff does is make your posts look more important than they actually are

I mean hell, I am probably going to stop replying to you because your threads are so devoid any actual content. Your posts are full of wish washy stuff that isn't actually saying anything

If you think bumping your threads mindlessly is going to change the mind of anyone in GGG (who are actually the ones that are going to change the game you play) you are sadly mistaken

I am done here, this thread will die in due course, like most others

That sort of thread cracks me up :) "mindless masses of sheep", "the few". Lol.

And then a pile of guys try to one-up each other in "hardcoreness" and detestation of "casuals". To prove they're "part of the proud few".

It reminds me of some threads about rogue-likes... Where the local "hardcores" were explaining how games should only be played in green ASCII on black (to mimic prehistoric monitors) and then got into fights about how many lines of characters you could display to stay true to the original spirit.

There's a huge difference between wanting deep, complex systems and a gameplay hard to master for the challenge... And making a fetish of ANYTHING that can keep the "dumb masses" away.

Because, while in the first case you're just enjoying beinh challenged by the game... In the second you're just desesparately trying to be a "special snowflake". Which, frankly, no on cares about.

And anyway, there's no black and white divide between people. Not only do terms like "hardcore" and "casual" cover a continuum, but no two people agreee about what EXACTLY they entail. Playtime ? Taste for complexity ? Resistance to boredom ? Apart from being "Us" vs "Them", that is. Whoever "We" might be.

So, wherever you draw the line, it WILL be a compromise. Tuned to a smaller population, sure, but yet a compromise.
