If you look into how D3 was developed, you would realize this isn't any illusion

D2's natural evolution was towards a more open enviroment, a free world without restrictions or linear progression.

The original crew wanted to evolve it into an MMO to continue its path, but the WoW crew had not only taken the vast majority of ideas used for D2, and used them well, but also activision did not want them to fight over the same customers.

That is why D3 is fucked.

Because of activision not wanting an audience clash, so that they may sell more, D2's crew quit on blizzard because they were not allowed to do what they wanted to with the game, their creativity was being hindered by monetary decisions.

D3 is based on target audience considerations to a great extend, even down to the simplification of everything so that it may sell on console as well.

None of this had anything to do with dumbing the game down to casuals or listening to the masses, you do realize that?

Blizzards goals always have been to get their games to reach the majority of market they could, thats why they are such a successful company. Blizzard never has, nor never will they, release games for just the hardcore crowd.

The intended market audience for D3 was the same one for D2 and all of blizzards other games

We can have a large discussion starting with the wave of nerfs after forums cries if we wanted..

Nerf to everything that provided any substantial challenge following intense periods of forum crying.

Game was made by the same people who started this trend back in the burning crusade with wow, and it has been working it way to corrupt blizzard's roots ever since.

All i am telling you is that the game was shaped by considerations of target audience, and that's all i am really gonna say because this thread isn't about D3.

This game has already had nerfs due to forum cries, as has most other games in the history of gaming...

This game is hardly challenging if you go the common OP builds. In fact overall, I would argue its easier than D3 for various reasons

Conspiracy theory much? The same people that created D2 created TL, that game has also been critized by PoE's for being dumbed down to casuals

The target audience for Blizzard has always been the same throughout the whole history of the company.

It has, you don't make money if games just target hardcore players, this has always been the case

Blizzard is one of the most successful gaming companies because their games incredibly well, for the history of the company, and the number of hardcore players are in an extreme minority (and always will be)

Blizzards games have always sold because they are very approachable to casuals, this has been for all of their games

D3 did fail massively in certain areas, but it had nothing to do with Blizzard changing their game demographic or any crap like that

What matters is the respect and love you earn by doing whatever it is you are doing.

It matter's little how much money you earn, so long as you are making it.

Money kills over and over, once game producers want to become corporations growing large, and have to deal with ownership, intentions tend to change.

You must forever remain hungry if you wish to suspend your original momentum.

Right, thanks for completely dodging and backtracking from your previous comments
