They do however need to perhaps consider revisiting the trade system. Maybe adding in a cool-off period where by either party can opt out and reclaim their item/currency with no hassle.

Not really. The trade interface is pretty much perfected for this type of trade; you do have to mouse over the item offered for trade for this exact reason and if you do make any changes there is a cool-down period. Mind you, scams can and obviously still take place, and this type of scam is the most common; use a similar item with similar colour, graphics and specifically in your case, the exact same stats, which is just so insidious and calculated. It works, it has worked for thousands of years, and the reason is because you really can't stop it.

so maybe it’s time for GGG to set aside some time and resource to implement a system that’s a possible prevention to the vast majority of these cases

The majority of the scams are the bait and switch scam for which there really isn't anything GGG can do something about. I do however think that they should stop making low-end items with same sought fluid ranged mods that their high-end cousins have. Kaom's Sign/Way has the same issue, and not only share the exact same graphic, but part of the same name as well; one goes for 1 alt, the other for 50c.

It would serve GGG well to at least try to reduce and redesign these obvious scam trap items, if not to entirely; stop using same graphics, stop using obvious same stat ranges on floating mods and stop using similar names of unique items.

I mean, come on, guys! You can make it harder for scammers to do this, so why don't you. These items are almost an invitation for these scammers.

Three pigs, ~10 ducks, no idea how many chickens, got a doe and an 8 pointer about a month ago. Would do a cow, but don't have quite the resources. I trade hunting on our 65 acres in exchange for beef instead with a buddy. And if he doesn't get a deer, he doesn't take back the beef either; he understands how trades work.

If it makes you feel any better im lvl 95 and was blessed this league.

Ive spent around 15ex running beacheads thus far on Betrayal. I got bored and cocky last night and vaald my kaoms (mind you i only have around 40chaos right now without selling mad stuff.)

effectively bricking my character for a minute.

And yes I know the qual wasnt 20% LOL

Moral of this story is, it sucks to suck.

I also ACCIDENTALLY jewler orbed my first ever 6link (way back when 6links were considered exotic period, where a 6link life tri res armor would be like 15ex).

I was tired and excited and need to chromatic the right colors for it, i think i quit PoE for a bit after that one.

Well, beside the, what I would categorise as the biggest *whoosh* in the history of time, understanding how trading works, doesn't mean you understand how scamming works. I can guarantee you that you have been had, tricked and fooled more times than you can count, and mostly right under your nose, because that is how it works; you're not supposed to detect it!

Your ignorance about the subject is... I just can't help myself, but I think of this;

"There's an old saying in Tennessee—I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee—that says, 'Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

The OP isn't the fool, here, he has learned. You, on the other hand...
