Got scammed for the first time. Sucks :(

If everyone actually listen to what i posted and actually took it as sound advice and was more vigilant in protecting themselves from scammers then scammers wouldn't have anyone to scam in the first place now would they? The problem would litteraly solve itself at that point.. Scammers are predators.. and predators only hunt for prey when they know there is prey close around.. if there's no one to be prey and become a victim then scammers wont have much business to conduct anymore.

I mean think about it what would you rather GGG be investing their time into? The next League, Expansion, New Content, Changes to keep the game Fresh? or have GGG forget about ALL that shit and just use that time instead to solve an issue that the Player already has the solution to but just either too lazy or or incompetent to actually use it?

Imagine if they did drop everything to start investigations into each and every single person who claims to have been scammed because they were too impatient or lazy to simply check the item instead.. Don't you think that's gonna kinda hurt the game in the long run for the rest of us that know how to use the accept button? Don't you think teaching people instead how to safeguard themselves wouldn't be a better more sane solution? Especially when GGG put in place a way to insure you can NEVER be scammed already.

Again Scamming isn't the issue.. the people being complacent and allowing it to happen to themselves only to turn around and put the blame on GGG instead of taking responsibility for their own actions (Or in this case inaction to check the damn item your buying.) absolutely ARE the problem! There isnt a problem for GGG to solve because we already have a solution it was put in the game along with trading its called the Accept Button...

And just to be clear im not against GGG banning Scammers either.. what i am against is this solution that GGG can just so easily invest all this time into investigating thoroughly each and every single claim to insure its validity to which of course out of many of those WILL turn out to be false which in turn is just another huge waste of GGGs time and resources to again solve an issue we already have a solution to if people would just use it..

We do investigate scam reports. We look at patterns, of course, but we always want players to use the trade system. Most of the scamming happens outside of that system — like “I’ll give you this currency if you help me kill this boss” and so on. We want them to report scams and if people are truly ruining the experience of others. We actually do get emails from people who do get banned. It’s just that we don’t talk about the account issues of players in public.

I was scammed once for 4exa, was mad as well. But then understood that this was a good lesson and payment for my mistake. I kept playing and got 20 times more currency which I didn't even use
GGG can't protect you from your inattention. The human factor is a key to 99% scams or security hacks in the world. And it was and will be always like that

Just don't pay attention to in, the league just started and you already got a hero to get currency back. Simply keep playing like you have just started.

I was scammed for 20ex few years back by the master of all scammers.

He has quit poe by now but he has a unique item named after him and even managed to unleash a scam so big Chris Wilson himself stepped in after reddit was about to riot about it.

Also, it helped to the eternal removal.

I tracked him down outside of poe (thank you, power of the WWW) and no surprise, he's just a fkng asshole everywhere, not just in poe.


For all I care, he gets hit by a car.

Yea I agree but banning does absolutely nothing. Same goes for the gold farmers/bots. They generally all have a guild set up even if its just them with the leader of the guild on some other account. Then do the scamming and botting on other accounts so when they do get banned, none of there items are really gone since they just load up the guild stash with what they find.
