Got scammed for the first time. Sucks :(

to the creator of this post.

Without being mean or personal, but it is truly your own fault, and some People will take Advantage of that, in game and in real life.

But stopping to Play because of this ?
You dont suicide when u get scammed for a few Dollar bills irl do you ?

Just take your time while trading, i once had About a box of searching eye jewels, a guy wanted to buy one for 80c, he came inside my Hideout and told me to hurry up, i did my best but there were so many with the same Name (base) that i put in a wrong one, he gave me 80c and insta pmd me with: thx took you Long enough, guess what i did ? Right, i did not give him any of his shit back, because it was his mistake lmao. (but srsly tho, the lesson is to not trade quickly for items which are more valuable to you.)

Shame GGG won't enforce anything other than penalise those that name and shame the people that are tarnishing their community o/

Thats the Spirit.. Let One person who got over on you because of your own shortcomings speak for the other 100s of thousands of people in this community.. Makes total sense...

And theres nothing to enforce... The trade window has an accept button you must click to accept for a reason. Thats reason is you check your item and make sure you are getting what your paying for. If you click it before doing so thats is 100% completely on YOU!

Sorry if this sounds cold or harsh but, people need to realize at some point its not GGGs job to protect you from people looking to get over on people. Those people exist in ever facet in life games, work, everywhere. Its a part of life.
If a salesman comes to your door trying to sell you some bullshit do you call the company he works for and ask them to stop sending their people door to door? Or do you take care of it yourself and tell him to get the fuck off your property?
I would assume the later therefore if you go to trade for something especially if its for larger amounts of currency you dont want to just lose or throw away.. might be in your best interest to make sure your getting what your suppose to right? You go get burgers at a fast food joint dont you check your order to make sure its right? If it is wrong do you just go to Mcdonalds forums and cry? No you protect yourself to start with.... You check the damn food. Especially if you have ever drove all the way home before without checking only to relize they fucked up.. You might have got scammed this time but just like driving all the way home from a burger joint only to find your food is wrong.. you only do it once.. after that you'll always check from then on out.. And you will do the same from this point forward with trades.. oh thats right your a quitter nevermind...

Seriously people take just some tiny little bit of responsibility for your own actions.. Just pretend for a second you actually have control over your own shit. Not every problem can be solved by complaining.. in fact most problems only solution is to do something about it yourself..
There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation.
The former is Wisdom, the latter is Fear.

They literally force you to hover over the item before you are allowed to click accept. What better protection they could possibly offer? You want a warning pop-up everytime you make a trade? I don't think you do.

Perfect!

Seriously? The guy's going to double and triple check from now on, regardless of what anyone else says at this point. To assume otherwise is showing some pretty shit logic to go with that pretty shit empathy.

Great analogy. In my municipality, we have a bylaw making door to door soliciting illegal. Makes it a great fucking place to live.

No. what he should do is go scam someone else, as many people as possible, until he recoups his loss. It won't be his fault, it will be the victims fault. He gets his currency back, the community crucifies his victims for being stupid. It's win win for him.

That's my reasoning, based on the posts in this thread.

i am under the assumption that players who get scammed are well aware of what they do wrong.

but i don't think players expect the scammers to get away with it to continue scamming.

How in the hell does that statement make any sense? You actually think people are just gonna opt into getting scammed out of exalts just because we tell them on the forums that its not their fault?

"Oh, well people on the forums said its not my fault, I guess this time I won't check!!! Lemme throw these 2 weeks worth of exalts up here and not check!!"

How dumb does that sound? Pretty stupid reasoning.

It has nothing to do with you trying to help this guy, and everything with you guys gloating and enjoying it. There is no help in ridiculing a guy on the forums for getting scammed, no matter how you try to spin it. And thats what you do: ridicule. A fair number of regular posters here gloat and revel in other's misery. If its not someone getting scammed, its someone not happy with something else with the game, to which the white knight patrol swoop in and gloat, ridicule, and flame until possibly the guy quits the game.

Just like all these posts flaming a guy for getting scammed, and blaming him; not the victim.

Question to Vresiberba and Earthslug

You think GGG should put resources into actively Investigating scam reports and banning scammers? If you do, how do you justify the huge waste of time, money and resources it would cost them? The system we currently have is 100% scam proof if you pay attention.

To answer your question:
YES

Have you read the entire thread or just last 3 posts and base your opinion on that?

GGG asked to file a complaint through mail and they will investigate.
Look my supporter pack, look yours,

Who do you think that pays for their recources?
What did the russian scammer pay: NADA

So yeah, I'm fkng good with having them actively hunting scammers after a report.
If they ban him, I'll even add 20$ for their delivery pizza jar

Don't get me wrong, I agree with your point and hate scammers as much as you do, but I just can't legitimately find any reason you are flexing with your Supporter pack and "20$ donation if GGG does This or That". This looks strange, man
ive noticed the last few days the ruskies seem to have gone into overdrive on trying to use chaos instead of exalts for high value trades. (5 chaos instead of 5 exalts for example, not 500 chaos)

It was your own fault though, you fell for obvious scam and you didn't bother checking expensive gear that you're buying.

Wrong. It's the scammer's fault. It will always be the scammer's fault. It's not my fault if I forget to lock my back door and someone robs me blind. It's the thief's fault. I could have been more diligent and perhaps prevented the theft, but it is not my fault.

Though I agree that people should be more diligent when buying expensive upgrades to protect themselves - just like people should double- and triple-check their locks when they leave their homes - putting the blame on the victim won't stop things like this. In fact, the scammers out there may see such a thing as a justification for their actions.
