" It called taking responsibility for your actions. Clicking "Accept" without reading the name of the item falls all on the person being scammed. Is it a shitty thing to do someone? Yep. Its a kick to the head for sure. You would never catch me doing anything like that to anyone. Its a shit way to do business. But these people will always be around; in game and out. This whole hand-holding society we live in needs to go. Suck it up buttercup is right. And the white guys says, I'll have a Coke then.

" Actually, outside the game this is called "bait and switch" which is illegal in most places. So outside the game, in the real world, there are consequences for anyone who practices this scam. I am sure New Zealand probably has a law addressing it. That is why it rarely happens, and when it does, you have options to retrieve your loss. No such option here. GGG does not care about what happens in their game, as long as it does not cost them too much money. In this game you can lie, steal, cheat anyone you like, and you will be protected against any backlash. Win scenario for the bad guys. I can for instance practice what the op had happen to him. no problem, in fact people will remove the fault from me and place it on the victim. I can sell lab runs, require half up front, collect the chaos and disconnect. All the victims fault. No fault of mine, because they should run it themselves, or not pay till the end. I can also join a lab run, refuse to pay until the end, disconnect and go about my business. Not my fault you trusted me. I can offer master services, collect the cash , then disconnect. If you trusted me , you lose your cash. Not my fault. You should have researched someone reputable. I can do it as many times as I like because you can't name and shame me. I only ever solo, so there is no reason for me to care about my reputation anyway. Looks like it pays well to be a bad guy, especially when the community will never blame me. |

Shouldn´t GGG step in here?
I mean, he sells you a different item than you agreed on, that sounds very much like fraud. |
|
|
GGG makes you have mouse over the item to prove its the item you want to trade for. It is up to you, and only you, if you want to hit accept or not.

any updates? is the scammer still playing or banned?

This is my reasoning:
If you say to this guy "It's not your fault, we feel for you"... he's going to do it again. It's not his fault after all. If you say "Dude, totally on you to check." He might just do that next time. |
