all games is repetitive dude.
Have you ever heard about counter strike? Reason why people play 10k hours of poe is the same why people play 10k hours of dust2. If you like the game, you're doing it. Mapping and doing end game stuff for 10k hours sounds actually less weird to me than buying a awp and camping on "B bomb spot" in dust2 for 10k hours. Question is: Some ppl love poe, other love cs. My end, it justifies my means, All I ever do is delay, My every attempt to evade, The end of the road And my end.... Last edited by imLuCaSsS#6273 on Dec 7, 2018, 8:04:38 AM

Where are these threads talking about getting fat and neglecting your kids. I don’t recall a single one in recent memory.
Yeah, we get a rush when a chase item drops. But something similar happens in every game you enjoy, otherwise why are you playing it? For educational purposes? I recall REAL addiction issues in MMOs, particularly WoW where a ton of personal neglect happened/happens. I think you see that to a much lesser extent here as the group facets of PoE are secondary. No real loot boxes, no real (arguably) pay to win, no artificial time barriers aside from the loot drop system; I think your despite weapon is pointed at the wrong game. Almost every MMO and successful mobile game has preyed on addiction for years and years. Ok, I’ve been falsely accused of being a white knight in the past, but this post comes close to that..... " Majority of responses were in the category of "This is a *deep*, highly complex game full of theorycrafting and an intelligent, involved community. We lead full lives and play PoE by choice." What I see is, "Its a basic side scroller with a 3D overlay, crappy graphics, endless solo repetition. Only 13 year olds or addicts would find this repetitive gameplay satisfying." I saw the IGN review "this is your dad's ARGP" and while at first I thought he must be crazy given all the people playing, my opinion has swung around to align with the review. Here is the thing about simple games, you don't have to actually complete endgame to understand what it is. So all the people saying "until you have killed uber elder you have no idea." You don't have to jump off a bridge to know that the fall will kill you. If you watch a high level chess match between masters, you have no idea what is going on. With PoE you can watch a video and build guide and the only thing stopping you from imitating it is lucky RNG drops. There is no PVP. There is no competition ladder. There is (essentially) no group play. There is just addicts convincing themselves its a "deep" game and that they are making positive life choice. But why on earth are you still playing the game, if you obviously don't like it (confirmed by all your previous forum threads). Just leave PoE behind you. What do you want to achieve with these threads, what do you want to hear from "us addicts"...

" Well, good for everybody. Bye and have fun with games you really like. |

" Well, I'm a 48 year-old gamer who has been playing video games continuously since my (truly awesome) uncle bought Atari Pong from Sears and hooked it up to his black-and-white console set back in the mid 1970's. I think PoE is a deep, highly complex game full of theory-crafting. I lead a full life with a spouse, two teenage children, a full-time software engineering job, and I very much enjoy playing PoE. If "basic side scroller" is truly how you see PoE, then perhaps you should re-evaluate *your* level of creativity and skill. I mean really... If you look at that skill tree, those skill options, and all that gear and still feel like you have no room to be creative, then there's something seriously wrong with you.
