70 Hours and already burned out, how do you do it?

This is just a common symptom of Pre-league waiting. Not wanting to burn out before the league starts and at same time wanting to play the league already.
It's cheaper than booze and drugs, and less likely to lead to jail time.

But, seriously, I play the game because it's fun to explore the many possibilities it offers, and stop playing the game when it becomes more frustrating than fun. Everyone plays for their own reasons, and I'm not concerned with what the next guy is doing, only whether I'm still having fun. I've been playing off and on for just over a year and still learning the basics about game mechanics and character building.

I've never gone beyond mid-tier maps let alone "farmed" Shaper or Elder fights for valuable loot but it doesn't bother me if my character isn't up to it. There are dozens of build ideas just from browsing the forums that I'd like to try, gear-dependent, gear-independent, budget builds and builds to try if I can ever afford certain items. And there's still solo self-found and hardcore variations to try if the basic game doesn't offer a challenge.

Later today a new league starts and with it everyone starts with a clean slate, a character with a crappy weapon and the clothes on his/her back. There are new skills and strategies to try out, an empty stash to fill, and a new mystery to solve. It's enough to keep a person occupied for a few weeks, at least, and offered for free.

You seem determined to ignore everyone's advice about how to progress in the game and find something that you can enjoy about it. That's fine, but I wonder about your motivation - I can usually decide whether I will enjoy a game or move on within a few hours and if it's not fun I just move on. It seems masochistic to throw yourself at the game for weeks just to be able to claim that you spent hours and hours playing a terrible game.

But, hey, if you're going to troll, at least you're an amusing troll.

If you don't enjoy your time in path of exile that is totally fine but you dont know what is viable for endgame. You couldn't even pretend.
Path of exile offers alot more permutations of playstyles, world layout, items, enemies ... than most games, making it highly replayable.
Also no need to take a dump like this on the community mr. Cx.
You have to remember to chase and catch your dreams, because if you don't, your imagination will live in empty spaces, and that's nowhere land.
its easy because everytime you play another game it lasts about 5mins before i give up and go back on poe. #addict

you never even made it out of the tutorial . The first 10 acts are not even the game they are the tutorial . You dont even sound like you tried to play you basically afk your way through watching tv , then surprised you are not engaged by the gameplay .

Try actually playing and try getting past the tutorial . Also 50 hours and still in act 9 is absurd , today some of us will make it to maps in under 5 hours easily .

I mean you must think yourself terribly clever with the gigantic shitpost you made but the reality is anyone who actually plays these games is just laughing at the absurdity of your post.

This post reminds me of that guy in the office that can't stop talking about how great his standing desk is.

People who complain about repetitiveness/grind in ARPGs always amuse it. And PoE has done one of the best jobs if not the best in giving you a fancy endgame contant and sugarcoat the grind so it actually would be interesting.

Maybe it's not your cup of tea which is fine, but this genre has millions of fans for a reason.
Lol ...the game has so much versatility, I've played over 3000 hours so far and havent seen everything the game offers....and you only played till Act 9 and already cry?

To your point:

- Ye it fewer and farther bcs you go for specific items & stats as longer you play the character to carry him to endgame.

- Theyre also many Singletarget build that dont have great clearspeed.
But ye, this is the strenght of POE...you can modify the skills however you want.

- There are always some kind of competitions....f.e. now with Delve how deep you can go.

https://poe.ninja/delve/builds?sort=depth

And simply share a build you've created by your own....theyre so many undiscovered possibilities.

- I'm healthy, I have a full time job, a real life and I simply enjoy to play POE.
My god I dont have time to play 12/7 like as I was young, but I always reach my goals in a league...and as said I still haven't beaten some Endgame bosses, so still have some goals left. ;)

But I have the feeling that gaming generally isn't for you, bcs you sound like a old & grumpy man who bash video games and whine around how bad everything is.

Everything at gaming is always "the same thing" more or less....its up to you what you make out of it.

For me POE is always a new andventure with a new hero and new skills....and maybe I catch & beat the big bad wolf at the end of the road this time. ;)

How do I do it?

I follow Hunter S Thompson's daily routine, and substitute writing 12-6 am for PoE. Works ok, but then I'm a filthy casual.

Recycling the empty bottles of lucozade help avoid the need to stop to pee

Ah who am i kidding? I open a portal and alt tab to the forum and go "afk" in game for hours. The portal is because i know i will die but don't want the zone to despawn.
atleast im not the only one... so much xp lost that way...[/quote]

Have never followed a build... may have come up with some myself that actually end up quite similar to existing builds i later find, but most the fun in poe for me is setting self challenges like only using looted gems, or picking a retarded attack and winginging it as far as i can etc, coming up with own builds and ofcourse, 50% of play time waiting for replies for trade...
