Private leagues - and whos gonna play that?
Streamers and their friends. This looks to be solely designed for just that, a niche and it will do nothing more than fragment the community ever further.
I would have preferred a focus to further develop the guild system in this game, that is insanely underdeveloped. Or do something with the PvP. Invest effort into the content currently available that is largely underdeveloped. Eh, i'm indifferent. This looks like something to do once you've exhausted, and digested everything the game could offer you. |

Honestly, the idea had merit, and then they killed it.
I'd like to be able to pick and choose a few old league mods whenever I create a new character and those mods would always be active - for that character. Other players joining the party hosted by that character would also have those mods active, and my character would loose them when joining another character's party that had other mods active. Paying a [rather hefty] fee to set up a private league will only appeal to the 0.01% hardcore players who want the challenge, and streamers who need ever new and tweaked content to draw in viewers. The rest of the player base won't care in the least - they can't show off to the rest of the world how bad-ass they are in a tiny little private league. Being able to choose three league mods at character creation, both in standard (LOL) league and the temp leagues, would add spice to the game for everyone. I'd pay to have that mode turned on - so long as it would remain turned on henceforth after that. Not going to pony up a penny for temp stuff. Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. |

" people in SSF were killing uber elder in first week. hell a few were lvl 100 after first week... this "can't get to end game" is a myth. One of the most powerful builds in the game doesnt even need a 5 or 6L VD poets pen. And poets are easy to chance if you don't find them. I did find them this league but i'm not playing it this time. This is targeting streamers with bitchbo... er, I mean subscribers. So I don't expect many people to play these leagues, which is a good thing. However, I am concerned about the direction the PoE business model seems to be heading toward, more cashgrab tactics. I find this pretty disgusting imo.

" I like the cut of your jib. Do you have a newsletter to which I could subscribe? This seems like a great idea, although I am not sure how difficult it would be to implement. |

They NEED to sell (yes SELL) an offline version which can/will be modded and any leagues added/subtracted. I would pay big bucks for that and I'm not the only one.
I was shocked to see this announcement. The idea has been out for years and I just assumed they would never do it for whatever reasons. I think it is REALLY cheap. I thought if they did do it, such a thing would cost like $50 or so. I use time when I am burned out on PoE to play other games but I am not ruling out making a private league for me and the wife if there is a league we both dislike. Sounds like fun! Censored.

"Private leagues - and whos gonna play that?"
I will give a try for sure. Nevertheless I am expecting it will be fun similar to prenerf patches regards to amount of mobs, balance stuff etc. Last edited by Rexeos#3429 on Nov 5, 2018, 12:42:50 PM

" If you read my post, you would see that I was referring to "my play time". I know it's not impossible, far from, but with my available play time, it is - for me. If you think people beating Uber Elder and reaching level 100 in the first week as SSF have "limited play time" except sleep, I think you're sort of mistaken. And if you're not, we're living on two different planets when it comes to priorities in life. I'm not hating here, people are allowed to prioritize as they like and play as much as they want, but you almost make it sound like beating Uber and reaching 100 in a week SSF is some kind of norm. It's not. It never will be. Forget you. Forget the streamers. When I talk about "possible", I talk about what's possible for me - and my play time. Using your logic, is possible for you to run hundred meters in way under 10 seconds, because someone else has done it. You know, people doing the same thing for a lot of years, 10+ hours a day. You're comparing apples and oranges here. Please don't. Never use full time gamers as a "norm" for what's possible for the "average Joe". (And no, I'm not saying the game should be balanced around the "average Joe", playing 1-2 hours a day. The balance is OK now). Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" Yep DRM free offline like Grim Dawn. The internet connection is BS especially those of us who play SSF. But I think they figured out like other games they can make more by having you always online. Git R Dun!

" I didn't say it was possible for everyone in one week but it certainlly is over 3 months even 2 hours a day. Do the math. Lets say these pros hitting 100 play 20 hours a day first week. Thats 140 hours. If you play 2 hours a day 6 days a week for 12 weeks thats 144 hours. So causal play can get it done in one league. I'm super casual don't even ply 2 hours a day. Miss many days and still 97.85%... may hit 100 still. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Nov 5, 2018, 1:46:37 PM
