Incursion Timer
Timers are a good way to get players to make mistakes and to be less cautious. This is referred to as ladder population control in hardcore divisions and often adds to the hype in a risk vs reward scenario.

Is there any possible thing that GGG could add to this game that wouldn't have a bunch of people whining on the forums? PoE could have the "Free blow jobs for everybody!" league and someone would be here saying "I'm a eunuch, and I am tired of GGG's exclusionary game design! Whoever thought people would like this should be fired!"

I don't understand, do you really think if you aren't a meta slave, you won't be able to clear fast enough?
I will probably be playing either a double strike build or a infernal-blow-oriented-hits-but-with-ignite-prolif build, far from what the meta will be, and yet I don't worry one bit about if I will be able to clear the content or not. |

This is the ONLY negative part about the league that I've seen so far. Clear speed should be a reward in itself, and not forced upon a player. AGAIN, GGG favors offense over defense - and forces you into a certain amount of clear speed/DPS - not to be able to beat a boss, but to really participate in the league mechanics.
I really hate it, and it limits diversity severely. And no, I'm not against fast clearing builds - and yes, I tend to build fast builds myself. Both of which are completely beside the point. But I'll wait and see before I whine more. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Exactly the same thing they did with the Breachlords :/
If PoE history teaches you sth is that GGG don't learn from their mistakes :/ "Wealth in a game is measured by the amount of fun, joy and entertainment you can get out of it".

I don't understand². Abyss was EXACTLY the same. You had to be a little quick to finish the breaches before they close, and once you were inside abyssal depths, you had all the time in the world.
In incursion, you have to be a little quick to finish the past portals, and once you are inside the current time temple, you have all the time in the world. How is that different? Last edited by Keyen#4575 on May 11, 2018, 3:58:13 PM

" Well that IS a problem. Building a whole league around it is a problem squared. Last edited by LaiTash#6276 on May 11, 2018, 4:05:17 PM

" The difference is in the scope. A single breach is very limited both in space and time. Even breachlord domains are smaller than a regular zone. From what we've seen so far, an incursion is going to be significantly bigger, which makes the requirement of maintaining clearspeed throughout the whole encounter more demanding. Also, am I the only person around here who actually picks up loot while they clear, instead of just steamrolling the whole instance at once and then vacuuming up the remains? |
