Game is ruined after the returning to Lionseye Watch
" Yes, I read the nodes. Still not addressing what changed after the new maps were added and players returned to Lioneye's Watch. Unless you are willing to set an example and let others see your characters, please do not offer advice. It's kinda like the people who say, "There are people who reach level 100 solo self-found", meaning they have not done it. After the players return to Lioneye's Watch, there is a steep difficulty change that was not in the game before the new acts were added. My steam - http://steamcommunity.com/id/old-school-player

" Before the new acts, my wife and I would make it to Bowls of the Beast in Merciless before we hit a wall. Then, we would play the Atlas. Now, as soon as we step out of Lioneye's Watch we hit a wall. Something changed and the developers need to address it. My steam - http://steamcommunity.com/id/old-school-player

" Thank you. I am redoing some of my skill points and putting them into life. Have a couple of 4 socket items with the right colors, just need them linked. I just wish the developers would address the needs of casual players. My wife and I may play for an hour after work, then a couple of hours on the weekends. It seems that if someone does not follow an established build they can not make it trough the game. Ever since the new acts were released, middle of 2017, after returning to lionseye watch the game seems to have a steep difficulty curve. Maybe the developers should give casual players the option to play the game old style with the three difficulty levels. Or give us a way to turn down the difficulty. " Even though everybody keeps saying your passive tree sucks, I'm pretty sure every other person commenting in this thread could make it through to the boss of act 6 using your character and that exact skill tree, as long as they were allowed to spend some of your orbs (or a bit of time to hunt one orbs), essences and master crafts to cap your resists, get some more life on gear, and get a 4L for your main skill/s. People are only suggesting you follow a guide because you didn't seem to be successful at making your own build. "These are great ideas. Making the game more customisable so people can play it how they want to is a pretty obvious thing they should do. It's a pity that it will never happen. (I genuinely mean that, I am sad everyone is forced to play the game the same way.) Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

All that really changed is they replaced the sine wave difficulty curve with a more linear one.
Not really sure how they could even make the game so people could get through the storyline with under 2k life and low resists. Would be fun to see Veil of the Night builds though. Guild Leader The Amazon Basin <BASIN>

" How many times do I have to explain this, things were fine before the new maps were added. After acts 6, 7.. were added, things went downhill. My wife and I bought supporter packs, we were entertained, and we were happy with the game BEFORE the new maps were added. How is this supposed to be fun? My wife and I enter the arena, and I am dead within 3 seconds. She died just a few seconds later. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1344260873 Until grinding gears addresses the needs of casual gamers, neither my wife or I will be buying any more support packs. The developers need to address the needs of casual gamers. Especially those who have supported the game in the past, and would like to support the game in the future. 'bad players are players too! we demand a free pass, a candy and a kind word from the developers! that or ELSE!'
this is what you do. please, understand - game to be 'a game' needs a challenge. and challenge by its definition CAN be failed if person attempting it is not up to the par. accept, that right now you arent. you can a) improve (start by being just a bit less stubborn) b) whine for the game to change i can assure you that option b while enticing wont bring you joy. note: youve spent here more time that it would take you to sort your character out and get to act 8 or 9. just sayin' |

It's not about casual vs no life. It's just the simple fact that you don't have resists and life. Honestly level 38-54 is the most awkward point in the game for most of my characters. After I get to level 70 the game is actually simpler to mull through, though still difficult to excel at when making your own build.
Just you and your wife focus on making a defensive build or a totem based build. Double totem characters would actually be pretty funny. Once you get to level 70 with capped resists and decent life I think you'll find the game simpler to play just like before. |

Yeah, quit claiming this is a casual player problem. It's not. Thousands of casual players play the game and seem to get into maps. Playing casually just means it takes longer. Not that it's impossible. You'd have more fun if you just tried a little bit instead of complaining about the game getting harder and being too stubborn to offset the now linear difficulty curve by simply getting some defense.
And I find it hard to believe things were “fine” before. The difficulty curve didn't change all that much other than it becoming more linear so each act gets harder instead of getting easier then harder then easier then harder. Can you do me a favor and tell me what the results of /deaths are for you and your wife's best characters? I picture you guys forgetting that you had to zerg through Malachai to get from cruel to Merciless.
