Game is ruined after the returning to Lionseye Watch
" I know what you are getting at, but what i mean is: Normally A5 would have been the cruel equivalent before, therefore you would have had the 20% penalty already, that means if you would have intended to avoid it, you would have to go back more acts. After Kitava farming in A5 might become harder, but in regards to the resistances you require there to be capped in comparison to the game state before the difficulty rework stays similiar, that is only the 10% difference i mentioned. What i want to get at, at this level you should have already reached a gearing level, at which you could roughly cap your resistances in cruel before, so having at least 50% in all resistances should be a no brainer if you pay any attention to your resistances even with the 30% penalty. As a consequence before the difficulty changes went through he would have had just as many issues farming the lower areas once he hit a wall in the higher areas. The only places he could farm would be the ones with no threat of elemental dmg(e.g. imagine playing melee vs cruel Kuduku with 10% lighningresi and 1300hp or so), so no difference to the situation he faces now. The issue might be that, if he intents to farm up, that he doesnt know which areas might be safe, but it doesn't sound like it. I think you point would be a big issue if his resistances at the start of this thread had been around 50-60%. Then he would have been good resistance wise in the comparable situation of pre act-rework (probably ~cruel A3) and the penalty would have roughly doubled the elemental dmg taken. But iirc it was somewhere between 0-10 on average. That means even before the change he would have been murdered by any and all elemental damage in cruel-A3 and the penalty increased the damage he takes by only 40-50%. The way i see it the slightly increased difficulty of farming previous acts is a none factor in comparison to all the other easily fixable issues the character has. Be it tree wise(bad pathing, bad node choices and bad node priorities) or equipmentwise (no mastercrafts, no resistance flasks). Thats why i think it is a facete that leads to the impression of the game difficulty, but the main reason for this understanding is, in my opinion, a lack of game knowledge. Which is no problem, not everyone has the time or motivation to spend hours informing themselves about the game mechanics. But if someone is unwilling to inform themselves they should accept the judgements/criticisms of those that do. So blaming it on the penalty change would be a cop-out, providing a justification for ignoring all information given by other players and sticking with the opinion of the game beeing unfairly difficult. The Bestiary league proved once and for all, that GGG only listens to crying instead of well thought out criticism.
