Game is ruined after the returning to Lionseye Watch

I posted about this probably a year ago, after going back to Lionseye watch, the one shot kills are outrageous. As soon as I hit the mudflats the bosses are outrageously strong.

I do not even have time to avoid their attacks and I am dead. One hit takes 3/4 of my health.

This game use to be fun to play, and after around act 5 it is pretty much ruined. That is why I have not bought another supporter pack.

There seem to be a serious balance issue with the difference between common enemies and even blue bosses. I can mow through regular white enemies, then get one hit killed by a common boss. Something is wrong there.

The game use to be fun to play an entertaining, but not any more. Neither I or my wife will buy a supporter pack until the balance issues are fixed.

Just as I posted around six months ago I am sure people will blame me for the issues. I have been playing POE for several years, and the balance issues have gotten worse.

Yeah, the difficulty curve between "normal" and "cruel" is an actual difficulty curve now.

Ok so you obviously dont want to follow any guide which is fine but how about following some simple logic here.

You lack life cause you dont spend points into it yet you complain about having no life.
Also you can mastercraft life on your gear.
Or sinds you are not ssf you can look to buy some leveling gear with life/resist.

Defeating act 5 will give you -30% all res yet you do nothing to improve that.

Your tree needs work so badly at this point i would suggest just rerolling.
Just follow the life nodes you realy dont need any dps nodes early on,and if you want to go to the dualist area of the tree(which is fine btw) get golems blood asap its a super strong node and will help a lot more then life/mana leech which you dont need early on anyway.

One final tip always be upgrading your flasks at lvl 42 you get acces hollowed flask which are realy good for early lvl,also get a granite flask this will help your defences a lot.

Thanks for giving your feedback. I don't think you've correctly identified the issue, but it's still good for us (and especially for ggg) to hear about your experience.

From what I can tell, I think the extra difficulty comes from the resistance you lose after kitava fight. Otherwise it's mostly just a slight step up.

The problem with any difficulty curve is that your character can cope with the difficulty as long as its 'above the curve'. The curve gradually increases, and as soon as your character dips below that curve, suddenly everything seems way too hard. Attacks you could survive before are now slightly too strong, but slightly too strong is all it takes to kill you.

So although it seems like the difficulty ramp-up is intense, it's actually just that you've found the point where the difficulty started to get too hard. The good news is, you only need to improve a little bit (Eg, slightly better character, or learn a couple of new player strategies), and suddenly it will become not too difficult again.

you are right - but the wrong is actually the problem you CAN kill white mobs with your 'character' that is one of the WORST creations Wraeclast ever seen

the balance issue is the white mobs are xp globes ANYONE can kill (even your character). if they fix that, the difference wont be so huge

OP makes a terrible char with low HP, no block and resists around zero and then complains about mob damage...

His complaints do not surprise me. Man obviously has no idea about any character building, he does not know about ascendancies, as none of his characters ever ascended. However, it is amazing how with such a build he managed to get rid of Malachai (or what the monster from the end of Act 4 is called). Guy has 1500 life and almost no resistances! Its Act 2 level, but despite this he managed to go to “cruel” difficulty! That’s adorable and I mean it :)

Das true, on my first run I was also shocked and had no clue what to do. Fortunately someone told me to buy Goldrim, otherwise I would've quit. Oddly act 7 felt a lot easier than act 6.
