I love labs and I think they are exactly how they should be as they provide significant advantages to your character once completed.
risk=rewards are balanced as they should be on labs. The only thing I dislike is to do the trials before you get in the lab because honestly is just pure grinding and waste of time. So to me, remove trials, make labs available to run at X level, like normal lab level 40, cruel lab, level 60, merciless lab, level 80, uber lab level 90. That way it would give people a reason to level and play and do them. |

i dislike the lab.
i only run lab for ascendancy points and will not run it for anything more, period. i hate the layouts. they are way too long. 3 battles with izaro is ridiculous and overkill. having to do 6 trials per ascendancy difficulty (oh i hope to god this is being changed now) is fuckin tedious bullshit that takes way too much fucking time. it is completely unnecessary. more overkill. normal/cruel/merc labs aren't the worst though. their traps are tolerable. still too many rooms and too many izaro encounters but at least you can get through them in half decent time. uber lab is a giant fuck this. i won't even bother with it unless i desperately need the last 2 ascendancy points. if this is the point of uber lab, then congrats GGG its working as intended. the biggest reason? is again the trials and the limited fkin entry with those god awful blessings. uber lab itself, izaro is still a joke. the traps though are so layered on top of each other its so fucking annoying. next is this. the rewards are not worth the "risk"? wait, it isn't really risky...i don't feel. losing xp by dying isn't the risk anyway, you can always run it just after you leveled up. what you're risking is an immense amount of time and sanity mostly from grinding away at getting blessings (or buying a mass of them) just to run this same annoying god damn piece of content over and over to keep getting results you don't want on enchants. honestly? the enchants are not worth it. sure, some are nice, but they're definitely not build enabling enough for me to go through the absolute HORROR of trying to grind for them. and if im going to grind for an enchant i want, i'll 100% settle for the merc level because fuck those blessings. THE TWO BIGGEST REASONS LAB IS THE BIGGEST PAIN ON THE INTERNET 1. Mandatory gold keys. Fuck you gold doors...this just forces me to go to another side area and fuck around with more crap for another 5 minutes. gold doors shouldn't exist in any lab ever. its the worst, and i only attempt lab at any time if im especially feeling patient or im just completely bored out of my mind. 2. Limited sight range. if the god damn lab wasn't so fucking dark everywhere it would be a lot more tolerable to run through the traps because you could properly prepare for where you need to go and when, but no, you're literally running in the dark. this becomes so much luck based its insane. when do you stop? i don't know, i can't see that far, or i just can't see it because its so dark. both things are issues. a string of traps should not last longer than your sight range. compact them down or let us zoom out longer, and also introduce a new skill called "flare" Last edited by xMustard#3403 on Jun 17, 2017, 10:17:27 AM

i dislike the fact that it is mandatory content, that is a pain for a lot of interesting builds but others can just run though it in several minutes.
Things like the shaper, guarians, uber-atziri are to pose a challenge to players, and it is obvious that builds that are made to be simply fun will not be able to do those. Labs on the other way are essential to character building, and to myself, and i believe some others as well, it is sometimes more fun to poke around different mechanics that are not nessesary effective enough to take on uber jzargo (being hauled by someone else is a bad joke, and also takes time). The lab itself is not that bad, it is just not for everyone, the painful part is that despite that it was said to be "side content", ascendancy classes are mandatory part of character development, and even some builds that have no problem with actual arpg content it can be painful, while complitly unavailable to "for fun" builds. |
