They got an even bigger one. Their problem is no bombers can carry these weapons, because the payloads are too heavy. It's basically a gimmick weapon IMO, and only works in theaters where they have complete control over the airspace vs opponents with no air defense capabilities. In other words, a big fucking waste of money.

Sometimes you need a hammer, sometimes a wrench. MOAB and MOP are like a wrecking ball and a jack hammer. They have their uses. Before they existed, the only option for deep hardened facilities were tactical nuclear weapons. Yes, those still exist and are ready for use if needed. Would you prefer the US used nukes instead of MOABs or MOPs?

The C-130 that drops these routinely goes into hot airspaces. Just search for AC-130H (2013 and before) or AC-130U gunships. If we didn't have A-10s, these would be used even more often.
