Speaking of.

In the UK we had a sitcom which was set in a 1960's English holiday camp. Mimicking the Butlins and Pontins institutions of real life. It was called Maplins. The real life Butlins staff would wear red jackets and were called redcoats. Pontins were bluecoats. Maplins had yellowcoats.

The name of the sitcom was Hi-de-Hi. Every morning a yellowcoat would speak over the tannoy system to the whole camp.

Beginning with three notes on a glockenspiel, bong bing boong, followed by the words "Hi-de-Hi, campers".

To which the residents that were up would shout back in unison "Ho-de-Ho"

Every time I hear the name Heidi Heitkamp mentioned on the news, I automatically shout out "Ho-de-Ho"

I'll, ehhm, see myself out.

Even more corrupt than African, Asian and Middle Eastern countries? You sir are high as a kite!

And most of those countries you're talking about are able to purchase influence in the USA via lobbying, which is legal. In the USA they've either legalized corruption, or do a better job at hiding it. There aren't too many countries in the world that legalize lobbying in this manner. And from the flipside, the USA uses "foreign aid" to bribe for influence in other countries. So the USA is on the give and take, and I'm considering all this when I say the USA is the most corrupt government. In some cases, especially with Israel, they funnel back some of that foreign aid for political influence with lobbying groups like AIPAC.

They occasionally execute corrupt politicians in countries in those regions you're referring to. When is the last time a politician in the USA got real justice, even after they were caught taking brides? Did they get tossed in the slammer for a decade or longer? Were they put on trial for treason or sedition? And executed if found guilty?

Do you think the USA is a force for good in this world? I sure as fuck don't.

Reading that just made me feel incredibly sad for you all.

Then again, you can get mauled in some places for openly supporting the wrong sports team, so I guess it makes sense.

Happens all over the world tho, damn soccer hooligans

I stopped wearing anything that may paint me as someone who may have voted for Trump, zero political gear

When I see ppl with Hillary gear or stickers, I kinda just giggle and think it's lame, but it doesn't make me mad or anything,

my car is new and nice, it would be keyed within a week if I had a Trump bumper sticker, people have some weird mental state when it comes to anything that can be seen a pro-trump, it's like a switch flips in their head and they become deranged.

You really should come here and wear Pro-Trump gear on a liberal college campus and just walk around, you'd be surprised at the level of hatred and bigotry you'd be on the receiving end of... and it's not the stuff like "oh i disagree with you, we will have a heated argument and then share a beer" type of confrontations

'If Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her' - Donald Trump
Sarah, monomania is a psychosis characterized by thoughts confined to one idea or group of ideas. an inordinate or obsessive zeal for or interest in a single thing, idea, subject, or the like.

For example, when someone on FB posts a recipe for cupcakes and some inevitably rejoins: "I will make those but not give any to Trump!"

Any I can find of the usual character, Gladys Pugh, actually say 'Morning Campers, Hi-de-Hi!' Which doesn't work in that format.

But I did find one of Peggy, the cleaner from the show, doing a Bestifal commercial.
