People bitched about nerfing life many years ago, that is why shit started, same goes for nerfing es back in the day. |

Funny part in all this, that by overall logic of things (not just in this game) all this fancy-es-magic-ranged-pew-pew guys must be squishy and one-hit prone (to balance their dmg and range) BUT... in PoE reality everything is twisted by some strange corruption -- "strong" melee life chars played like miserable papper-dolls (mostly, we are not talking about legacy kaom's and other super-costly things) while ranged "magic-based" chars can be like bricks.

Today i was running a tier 13 scriptorium map with medium difficulty mods inc attack speed ,monster life that kind not the hard - max ress crit mods. So im doing the map and the whole time it was a easy run i get to the boss and i get my lightning flask with shock immunity and i play safe i don't face tank (because i cant do it safely) i dodge its casts and make sure i go back if im empty on flasks and i kill the boss it was a fun fight and a good challange i continue to clear the map and i get to a bloodline pack that summons haast (had the bloodline keystone) i litteraly got 2 shoted by him and the worst part is his aoe made it impossible for me to dodge all of it so i died.
Now i want to say what the problem is i went into that map knowing that i can do it with those mods and i did it easily nothing on that map not the breaches not the boss was even close to killing me, but that 1 haast killed me in 2 hits with a cold flask up the difference in power between haast and the rest of the map was fucking ridiculous. This is just one of many examples where it shows how bad the balance in this game is i didnt do a guardian fight that if i died on i could say its my faulth for doing a t16 map with my build i did something i knew i could do and i knew that it had haast but i really wasn't expecting him to do that much dmg compared to the rest of the map and that is bad balancing when you clear everything else with no problems but 1 enemy destroys you without a chance of killing it i am in sc i went and tried to kill him 3 times gave up after didn't want to loose more exp because i couldn't avoid him in anyway that would keep me safe. This is a case of 90% of things in the game wont do anything to you at all and the 10% will one shot you its bad design when you ignore most mobs because they are too weak and you run into that 1 that just dominates you. Why i am i posting this here? Because i am playing a life build i made on my own sweep lightning build 100% conversion with brain rattler. I tried to balance it to cover everything that could be a threat 6200 hp, 14000 armour, 7 end charges, arctic armour, lvl 20 enfeeble 20% qual on blasphemy, max ele ress, 35% chaos ress, 400 life regen and permanent fortify since i have a really fast leap slam meaning i can keep it up easily i also use a good variety of flasks you can look them up on my profile. I know its not the best def vise build but thats why im not running the top endgame but tier 14 range maps with medium mods and sometimes 1 harder mod. The problem is this game is balanced around 16k es builds with crazy regen and vaal pact so in order for those builds to have a chance of getting killed ggg adds crazy things that can kill them. What does that mean for my build it means i cant even try something challenging like the guardians because they are balanced around double dipping and other crazy builds so they have a ton of hp meaning i cant even try them for fun cause i don't stand a chance and i hope people wont tell me the usual "oh ofc not all builds will be able to clear all content" yea a really small amount of builds that are leagues above anything else can do it and that content is balanced around them lowering the creativity in this game a by a lot. Just look at how many uniques get ignored and sold as trash just look at how many people play the same top builds and what streamers play. The solution to this isn't as simple as just buffing life and nerfing es vaal pact other things also need to be looked at like the huge difference with enemy dmg and life, mechanics that allow for insane amounts of dmg, weak defences like armour and evasion. Today in global i tried to talk about balance i got told that there are 100 builds that can do end game i asked to name 10 and when they couldn't i got flamed hard calling me a noob and the usual git gud comments. I really hope ggg looks at this issue but i dont think they will as too many players are satisfied with just copy pasting same builds every league and as long as they don't loose too many players and keep getting new ones with hype trailers they never will. " Or rise vaule of HP per level for STR and DEX? It's not to easy, becasue for example shadow not have too much life around start point... Barring rise %HP in nodes we need a rework some of it i guess. And rework Evasion maybe. Baby don't Vaal me, don't Vaal me, no more!
