Don't forget to drink your milk 👌
/whois before you buy? It doesn't always work, but it works maybe half the time. If someone's in prophecy, don't expect them to switch unless it's like a 1ex+ item or something, and even then... I've found it also helps if you offer an extra couple c/fus/etc for the inconvenience of switching to std to trade.

ha ha funny shit thewretch :)

Lel, playing standard. what do you expect of a broken, inflated economy that has most members playing on a completely different server. If this guy trini actually bothered to play the temp leagues he wouldn't have many of the problems he complains about
Sure, the lab can be hard, but it's pretty easy if you're properly geared, and not terrible at the game.
I don't mind the not switching. It's the not even bothering to reply is the kicker. It is pretty lame though, when I'm dredging my way through temp leagues for the exclusive bribes I always switch back to make a trade.
I'd really like to see, sometime after things settle down with the new league, a real statement as to where this is going.
Drop rates and quality in standard should be balanced for solo play, or at least improved. Instead it's the opposite where GGG funnels wealth into temp leagues with things like Cadiro, prophecies, and league exclusives, while standard remains as unrewarding to play as ever (and in many cases additionally punitive, since content that was free in leagues costs an entry fee in standard).

This is a big problem because the economy in standard is fundamentally and irrevocably broken by the dumpster dynamic (there's nothing GGG can do about it so long as temp leagues and HC deaths feed into it).

Why is it broken? Think about it.

Whenever a temp league or HC player decides to strip down and liquidate (which may not be immediately after a death or league end), they set prices aimed at rapid liquidation. Similarly, if they decide to try an item or build out before liquidation (or before a new league) they are willing to pay a lot to get something fast, again because ultimately they don't care about standard. Because of these goal differences and big price discrepancies there's a much greater trade to win problem. Playing the game for wealth in standard is so abysmally rewarding next to riding the trade wave.

It is like a theoretical earth economy where 50% of the population believes in an imminent rapture. Systems break down. There are inherent market perversions. If you spend all your time exploiting the rapture believers your reward is orders of magnitude higher than killing monsters, clearing maps, farming bosses, etc. This affects motivation and equitable reward dynamics.

Additionally, as the OP outlines there are ease of use barriers to trade in standard. While it's more rewarding to trade in standard (especially with automated price alert tools and custom indexers), it's also much less approachable for the typical player for all of the reasons/examples provided in the OP.

Designing drop quality and item systems like crafting and helm enchantments to have scarcity and specificity mitigated by trade may work in new leagues but there needs to be less economy dependency in standard.
Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.

^ thank you friend I am glad there are some intelligent and clear headed people on this forum who can read and understand.

Usually here I meet the regular trolls drinking rum and defending all the nastiness that exist in this game. But its good to see some level headed folks.
Look how Awesome my MTX Marauder RF looks
