I always switch from league back to standard for trades as soon as reasonably possible, even for small trades. I'll be sure to make an exception for you though.

Ow please you were selling a 1 chaos item for 10 exalts last time and when I called you out on it you got upset and went into a rage. You wanted Exalts just for switching to standard so you aren't fooling anyone here.

I wouldn't even take something from you for free.

I only deal with honest people, sorry bud./

If it's not worth your time to trade, then don't trade.

See... if trading becomes too easy, everyone would have access to it, rather than only those willing to put up with the faults in this crazy system. Everyone trading in a fluid manner would really ruin the game. You'd quickly see that nothing really has any value, and the only reason people are trading at all is because it's easier than storing stuff.

If there were easy trading in this game EVERYTHING would drop in price to 0... or as near to is as we could get.

Not saying that you don't make a valid point.

However the current system is very broken to the point where Trading is about 90% useless. For example I sold the consuming dark 3 days ago and people are still sending me requests to buy it. I trade using the premium stash.

This is a major fail here, and also trading is needed because of how bad the drops are. There is always the major hardcore option of making everything Bound on Account and removing trading all together. I bet Chris wants to implement BOA so badly instead of spending money to improve trading but he can't because its a Blizzard thing.

Don't want to breathe in pollution? Don't breathe the air. Don't want to deal with bugs, don't play games. Don't want to deal with a busted feature? Don't use it. Oh wait, that's the ONLY feature available to trade.. Nice one Shags, as usual.

Said it before, saying it again: trading should connect you to the person you want to trade with as easily as possible (minimum tedium), and then that other person should have every opportunity to brutally rip you off if you don't know what you're doing (maximum difficulty). I don't understand why people are trying to push for tedious, boring trade to make it harder, but also advocating every carebear thing to make trading risk-free, safe, and above all brain-dead.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
I have nothing against an Auction House. Diablo 3's was great. I think this game could sustain one no problem.

But be realistic...
I'm not switching to my standard character to sell something for a chaos or an alch. Something for a few chaos or an ex, then sure I'll switch over. It's become really easy to trade, but at the same time I can definitely find an alch's worth of things in the time it takes to switch over.

are.. you using poe.trade set to prophecy to search for items on standard
You should have to complete a lab trial for every trade that you want to do.
