PoE looks more like Diablo than Diablo 3 does!

I think Diablo 3 will still feel good to play since it's staying true to the genre. The problem lies in the name.
Screw Diablo's comicish graphics... PoE looks awesome. Phisics should be added,tho.
poe looks way better than d3. lets see how it plays!!
I don't understand why people hate on D3 for its graphics so much. They just went with a different art style, its more stylized and especially made to look as if its a painting.

In any case I'm still going to be playing this, D3, Torchlight 2 and that other game that's a successor to Titan Quest. No reason I cant like all of them :D
yep i will buy it.Of course i could also ignore it and say oh it's bad and no diablo anymore without even playing it :p

nah,no offense but I've waited too long for the game to not buy it.

and the original staff failed with hellgate or makes torchlight,which also didn't replace d2 as the best arpg

i mean.evil greedy activision ruins d3,is it really that simple?

That was my first thought as well. This looks a lot more like Diablo than Diablo 3 itself. The epic feeling was what brought my attention to this game at first. Really looking forward to being a part of it.

What is so difficult in understanding the criticism? Imagine not Peter Jackson but Guillermo del Toro is making the Hobbit (and he nearly would have) and it is more looking like Hellboy than Lord of the Rings. People would have attacked the movie and the film maker. If you have a brand, you have to stay true to it, it's an unwritten rule.. maybe it is even written. What is happening today in the games industry is impossible in literature, music or movies (with the exceptions I already gave). Games are art and so they work in the same ways as other media.

@InMemo
Yes, it is that simple. It doesn't matter if flagship failed with hellgate, these are the guys who invented Diablo and made it what it is. And it's not what we see now. Old Pre-Alpha pictures from 2005 show Diablo in a great status but that was the year World of Warcraft made it's way to the most selled MMO of all time. So Diablo 3 now is directly influenced from World of Warcraft. And it's not very rational to buy something, just because you waited.

Looking more like Hellboy then LotR? I dont even understand that.

Sure the game art style is different but the general feel and atmosphere is still Diablo. Just because it doesn't have photo-realistic graphics does not mean its not true to the original. Its like saying Doom 3 isn't a real doom game because it looks nothing like the original Doom.
Peter Jackson made Lord of the Rings in a very typical style for middle earth. Guillermo Del Toro has his own style and if he would have made the Hobbit like Hellboy the reaction would be the same.

It's not about photorealism here. If the art style is different, the feel and atmosphere is different too. How could I feel the same when I am looking at something that looks like World of Warcraft? That is not possible, because the world is looking different. Diablo was gritty and mature, colorful but not glaring, sometimes bright but not foggy. If the art style is different, you don't do justice to the brand (but the exceptions I wrote). It's like you're saying "everything is looking like torchlight but since the box says Diablo it's still Diablo".
Most certainly definitely completely positively agree
