PoE looks more like Diablo than Diablo 3 does!
Diablo III R.I.P

Yup.
I'm also completely turned off of D3 now. Blizzard made some terrible decisions. I hope it fails horribly, but I know it'll still be a huge success. |

In regards to zalcore's post
" A lot of people have been looking forward to Diablo 3 after having enjoyed Diablo and more importantly Diablo II for years, and to have the graphic completely flipped upside down is needless to say devastating to a lot of people. Some of the additions are cool IMO, but another thing I noticed after watching multiple gameplay videos was that nearly all of the spells and attacks have some incredible, over exaggerated visual graphics, even the monk's melee attacks. I won't say that it will ruin the game, but I can easily imagine that it won't feel enough like the game series that we came to love over the last two decades, and certainly it would be enough to stir and worry a group of people have have long anticipated a good game. I hope I'll be proven wrong, but my point is that the people 'complaining' about the graphics have valid points and reason to complain, in my opinion. My two cents.. Play til there aint no mo blues

" Exactly..and that's exactly why WC3 was garbage. It ruined RTS just like Age of Empires 3 ruined the franchise, introducing all this garbage about "customizing your city, and player cards" etc. Yeah, I played them both, and got decent at them, but they didn't keep me hooked like the previous in the franchise had. IMO... Play til there aint no mo blues

" Ummm..? Yeah, if a movie/game/whatever doesn't have the same feeling/"looks nothing like the original" then yeah, it shouldn't have anything TO DO with the original or take the same name (be in a series, or expansion)...could you use a better..example? Play til there aint no mo blues

"And the timer said let there be light!"
"And there was light, The timer said Let there be thunder, And there was thunder" "And the timer said LET THERE BE TORTURE STARVATION AND INSOMNIA, and there was all of these things struck down upon.... anyone who gazed upon its deathly figure.." |

" I'm not sure you're qualified to make that assumption, seeing as you've not actually played the game. As someone who /has/ played the game, it definitely looks and feels like the Diablo franchise should. When you get into a dungeon, there's a great sense of claustrophobia, especially in the desert caves that can spawn in act 2. As you're traversing said caves/tunnels the ceiling caves in on you, and you literally only have minutes to hack, slash, and fireball your way through the hordes of enemies, and to grab the loot from them and chests before the cave collapses on you. That kind of suspense/intensity is close to D1's hidden ones. Not knowing when you're going to be attacked, possibly being caught off-guard by multiple enemies at once. It's much the same feeling of suspense. I really think that people who aren't well-versed in how the game plays should really reserve judgement until the beta starts, and people start leaking game play footage, or until they're able to get their hands on it themselves. I personally wanted to get my hands on the game so badly that I'm going back to Blizzcon this year, and Diablo 3 is my only reason for doing so. As I've said here numerous times, there's way too much hate towards D3 in these forums when really both games will be able to coexist happily =] I know I'll personally probably play PoE when I'm away from an internet source as it'll be able to handle offline single-player, and D3 will most likely be my preferred online ARPG. But who knows, I haven't had the chance to get my hands on PoE yet. It is the nature of man to create monsters,

" See my last post in this thread -- the game definitely feels like a Diablo game. I've never had more fun in a Diablo game than with the Barb in D3 as a matter of fact. It is the nature of man to create monsters,
It is the nature of monsters to destroy their creators. |
