Why do you keep reading comments from people you clearly disagree with anyways? You gotta realize at some point you are talking to a wall because nothing will change these peoples minds and you already know youre right, or at least you think you do. I think youre half right but oh well.
Oh dear, how cute of you :)
I don't debate for the sake of changing someones mind. I respect that people disagree with me. I debate to learn, to understand and to maybe see things from several angels.
But people that have no moral, lying to deceive others for their own gains and keep on scamming people? I will never understand people like that, value or no value. Nor will I understand people defending behavior like that.
When it comes to suppression techniques, I think you know very well what that is. It seems pretty built in in the way you are writing.
Um, its a game, in which we FIND the items, its not like real life where we WORK for whatever we are being scammed out of which is usually money. So taking it too serious isnt the way to go here. Sure its wrong to trick people but its also wrong if someone walks into such a scam with open arms.
Let me ask you this, if you really want to use real life events as examples: I ask you to give me your wallet, will you do that? If the answer is no, and i hope it is because then youre smart you just answered yourself whether this was avoidable by the OP rather than there being something GGG or anyone else could or should do.
And nope, i really dont know what that technique is supposed to be, or i wouldnt have asked. :)

You don't understand, or you don't want to? What reasons have I to have moral?
phrazz, simply saying yes or no is not a proper debate speech. You're doing about as much sense as izbing.

Again: if it's just lolz and there is no implicit value in anything you collect in this game like you have been arguing here: put your policy in action and hand me every single currency you own.
You won't though - because the items have value.
Your whole stance and backbone argument is flawed for the simple fact that you really do value the items. Likely even more than I do and I've already openly stated how much value my POE items hold for me.
So really: nice completely empty argument you got going on there mate.
You really don't get it.
Let's say you're playing chess with someone. The other person exploits your lack of knowledge about the game and moves a pawn ten spaces forward. He decieved you, but you could have checked the rules. It's just a game, it doesn't matter. Now, should the other person forfeit the game just because it's, well, a game? No, s/he shouldn't.
Now, do you get the idea?

First of all, there is no true loss in currency - in chess you aren't collecting anything... no items... no value... .
I think a few pages ago you argued that you are losing time.

Would you steal his wallet if he did? My opinion right now is that most of the pro-scam commenters here would steal the wallet if they knew they'd get away with it.

The collecting of items/currency - those items and currency can hold a "time to collect" ratio - since I knew automatically people would argue that POE items/currency can't hold a "real life currency" value to them (they do, like it or not) you can still argue that POE items/currency take TIME to collect, so you could say that an Exalted is worth 300 hours TTC ("time to collect") value.
If someone takes your exalt, you most absolutely are losing out on time.
Playing chess is totally different because there is no collecting of items.
It's your time, you should be smarter than handing it out to a random person.
If it's valuable, you should take care of it.

Lance Armstrong got away with deceiving others for awhile too, but neither one is acceptable.
There is a valid solution to prevent much of this "scamming" , but thr PoE community isn't strong enough to implement, and GGG couldn't do it themselves. It is just a game, but those players who are virtual jackasses tend to be much the same in real life. Some of the younger ones that are just selfish and immature may grow out of it. At one point in all of our lives, the only person that mattered to us was ourselves.

Might I ask why not? Moral aside, is there any reason to not do it when rules allow it?
