checked TOS for scamming
The best thing to do on the internet is expect the worse from people because the internet is where the worst people spend most of their time. Look at everyone here endorsing shitty behavior and blaming the victims of said behavior. This is all internet communities have to offer and expecting more is what "scammers" want you to do.

Yep... the term "scam" has lost it's meaning due to overuse.

" Nothing in this quote is actually true. What they endorse is protecting the innocent, which unfortunately creates a nice veil for the guilty. If there was a way to identify these individuals that could not be easily exploited (and don't fool yourself, what many advocate as guilt on this forum is easily manufactured as a frame job), and then they did not take action -- THEN it could be viewed as GGG endorsing the activity. GGG support has actually come into some of these scam threads and asked for details to be emailed or PM'd to support so they can further investigate. If you don't believe me on the whole 'frame up' of cheating, I could probably make several people on here look like a huge RMT'er within a week without even breaking a sweat using the GD standard for guilt. Either way, your quote is false on most every level of interpretation by a reasonable person. EDIT: The can't have a healthy community part I call false because of the 'healthy' part of the statement. GD is not healthy :) Thanks for all the fish! Read each of those and you'll see that it's not a scam. No trick is involved. Nothing but a promise not kept. It's not a swindle. Not a scam. It's backing out on a promise.

" I'm not endorsing the bad behavior, I'm saying the 'victim' is as much at fault for letting himself get scammed. Buyer beware. Stop being a moron and crying 'scam' when someone outwits you. You're either a sheep or a shepherd, plain and simple. |

I've played in games were the Mods actively persecute scammers. All that happens is that scammers move to a new level and use the Mods themselves as tools to scam. The trap innocent players into trouble based on how the Mods react. It just changes their game... it doesn't eliminate them. If you're worried about scammers and cheaters, play strictly solo.

" We're talking about different things. I'm talking about a guy who gave his items to another player to use and then the other player didn't use them as was expected. Not a "business scheme". |

We pretend that it was a business transaction so much that people like you come to believe it. It's a game. People play it differently according to different rules.
Comparing it to real life is silly. It's not. In real life we have laws and courts and police. In this game we don't. That's a big enough difference to make any comparison of morals pointless. |
