RoS sales is a sign that millions are still searching for a better arpg playing experience. .
"It’s been a little over a week since Reaper of Souls launched and we finally have the sales figures.
Over 2.7 million copies have been sold since launch by brick-and-mortar retailers and online sales." Considering that only about 15-20% of all those who bought D3 jump on its expansion I find that number a bit underwhelming. |

Excuse me while I'm reading my favorite thread on d3 forums (another one)
> You do not get the social cohesion that comes from: > Bob: "Hey John..that Cain's Destiny set you just got? > Could you help me craft? I have the mats here.." > John: "Hey Bob! Sure thing! Don't blame me for bad stats though!" > *Bob and John laughing together* we join to laughing wholeheartedly as Bob is asking John to wait a minute while he is unloading 300 eternals from his buddy Chang
" That's still better than choosing the best tileset and farming it all day imo. you know that if you let players the choice, they'll pick the easiest/more convenient one, not what could look like fun because of the atmosphere most likely ( this is somewhat sad ... but that's the case ). " Stop bringing desync everywhere and especially where it's not the point. We all know those issues. I was speaking with tmaciak about design choices here, not anything like desync/graphic performances. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

> Let people be excited that a Monk got a Strength axe so that he could potentially trade it!
I know that feel! It happened when Int Echoing Fury finally dropped for my barbar!
" You might be right but that depends on how competitive people who play PoE are. If their competitiveness is subdued here, they will be happy just having enough dps and survivability to comfortably play through (most of) the game, no matter where they are on the "dps-ladder". As it seems your opinion on that stems from your stance on the matter and on your experiences with friends etc. But that is only a small fraction of the whole playerbase, and very subjective too. If I were to to do the same thing I'd say: 60%, 80%? Completely irrelevant. If fighting and surviving is not a drudge I'm happy enough with whatever I have. So, if a change of game-mechanics - like increased droprates for orbs - will lead to me having to spent less time in a monotonous drudge, I'd very much welcome it. |

" Oh, I wouldn't say that, if you're fine with doing what you have to do you can pull it off. I know a guy I met on a general chat near the start of OB, he used to ask for tips all the time, mostly asking 'does this work' and 'does that work' or 'recommend me a good build', once the 'good stuff' was pointed to him he reached merci and started to farm docks and later moved to piety, once he amassed some wealth he started flipping and was quite good at it. When he left the game he was incomparably wealthier than me and could do high level content easier with his steady mapping group, it's notable that except for trading prices he still didn't have much clue about how the game works. It's a curiosity that he's an avid MMO player too and had never played any diablo game as it was a bit ahead of his time. " It's actually better than I expected :) A lot of people are probably waiting for sales or something, 40$ seems a bit much to get the artificer and an extra act, I expect it to go as far as 50% which would be pretty awesome considering reactions to the original game. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs. ◄[www.moddb.com/mods/balancedux]► ◄[www.moddb.com/mods/one-vision1]► Last edited by raics#7540 on Apr 8, 2014, 7:57:44 AM

" I don't believe the bolded part tbh, not knowing deeply most of the mechanisms is understandable, not having much clue at this point isn't. But then, what would you say his time investment was like ? SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. " Heh, they thought of it in some way (I never was interested in WoW, but my IRL mate I rift with was avid WoW player long ago and says, that this is similar to WoW). In adventure mode, you do bounties. There is 5 bounties per act, usually those are "normal content" small side quests. In most cases, you need to finish this quest, but also kill suitable number of monsters in this location. From 5 acts, every day 2 different are "promoted" it means that you receive few shards more for finishing bounties in that act. So after few days, you are virtually "forced" to pass though all content. Seems strange at beginning, but in fact creates quite dynamic and varied gameplay. It's even more varied in rifts, as every rift level can be from different tileset and when you click doors to next level, you never know, what tileset you will find in. Anticipation slowly dissipates...
