Is GGG getting a pass on development issues? If so is that fair?
" Every game gets a free pass, nothing is perfect, even classics. In every game there are issues players put up with, PoE is no different. |

They could make a 64bit version of the game, then they could preload everything in to RAM on computers that feature enough RAM to do so! Eliminating every single case of Stutter on Demand and also increasing the time it takes befor a memory leak causes problems (Should a memory leak exist). It will also allow them to use larger zones/areas and stuff without worry.
Of course this doesn't help with things that are performance intensive, but it does eliminate the HDD from causing problems/stutter. No developer should ever get a "free pass" when it comes to real and widespread problems like this. All objective issues need to be acknowledged and addressed in some beneficial way. If this cannot be done, then, regardless of excuses, the developer has since failed to provide a product to meet minimum quality standards.

" What do you know. An Alpha tester defending such a massive problem such as desync. Desync in its current state is completely inexcusable for a game that is supposed to be 'released.' |
|
" Way to take my post out of context. At no point did I say it was excusable, it isn't. A good example of what I was talking about: 3 games I enjoyed for YEARS had glaring problems but got free passes on issues because the rest of the game was great. The issues were beat to death in their forums. Command and Conquer: Zero Hour, the 1.04 version was the final update to the best balanced RTS of all time. Shortly after this update a map hack was released that removed fog of war and revealed invisible units. The cheat was undetectable and chat was then unmoderated so people spammed the cheat right in the game rendering 1/9 factions useless and many units and abilities of others useless. Counter Strike: Source , had desync at release, still has it. One of the most played games on steam has it, everyone dealt with it. Google hit boxes. Battleforge, my only and last tcg, loved the game, had many bugs and exploits people dealt with, they released a failed expansion that required players to own two of the same card x 4 to upgrade. So yeah it wasn't an excuse, I just said every game has flaws. You used a big enough bait. So edgy! |

Thre is simply the fact it is improving. That is something
There are disagreements that it is improving, but from all evidence, over the full period of time, improvements are being made. Could it be improved further? Yes. Are there definitely things that could be done? Yes How difficult are these to do? No one but GGG knows. Are these being worked on? No one but GGG knows Will GGG tell us if they are working on it? From experience, no. Until it is 100% ready, or known that it will be ready, they won't be informing us, because if it then falls through this has created a false expectation which has a bigger negative backlash than people like allbusiness constantly attacking GGG saying they aren't doing anything. So take it was you will. I would say they aren't getting a free pass. I would say they clearly know of the issue, there was a dev manifesto explaining in more detail its general existence, and also saying it was an ongoing thing to improve. Also I would say anyone who refers to desync as something that needs 'fixing', can be 'fixed' or something similar, is someone who is ignorant, either not willing to understand or not able to |

I would very much like if GGG removed the whole accuracy mechanic, if that meant we had far less desync issues.

" show the evidence resync on stun - they did what else? |
|
" Nothing... It's the same shitty desync as it was 3+ years ago. People saying otherwise are lying, downright delusional, or trying to justify all the money they spent on their pretty Supporter Titles... Oh I'm wrong... I forgot they took out /oos because people were spamming it, but then they re-enabled it with a timer because everyone including delusional apologists bitched. I also remember people praising GGG for that... ROFL |

" Dear GGG, please make Mac version
