Extreme Arachnophobia

Fully agree on that matter, it's nothing to laugh at but then again, if such person with such phobia knew what it's gonna be like when encountering these creatures, why bother and play in the first place?
Need > Fear.
If you really want/need to play this game, you must to learn how to overcome your fear or wait of specific patch (highly doubtful) to come up which will change all spiders into puppies or sth.

OP doesn't just dislike spiders, they cause a physical and powerful reaction when he spots them.

Think of it like if you walk over a street and see a car heading straight for you at high speed, the feeling you would have then is about the same that the OP gets when he sees a spider in the game.

That is something you cannot just rationalize your way out of by saying "I am killing them so its okay".

Well if i can instantly smash the car that fear would go away honestly and that is what you can do here.

Also, this being a hardcore game doesn't mean that people should be allowed to flagrantly disregard common courtesy. If you have nothing useful to say, don't say anything at all. Many of you should be on probation as far as I'm concerned.

No it wouldn't you would still have an instinctual anxiety response at the percieved danger. You might think you could "just" do any number of things, but unless you are totally new type of human, your brain doesn't work like that and saying it does just makes you come of as ignorant.
